Strange tales weave their way through this author's family history: funny stories, tragic ones; weird characters, lovely ones.
Naomi M Rosenthal's parents fled Nazi Germany for Palestine and kept on moving throughout her childhood. When Naomi grew up she also kept moving, hitchhiking across Africa, teaching in Uganda, exploring as much of life as she could. She didn't stop until she had her own child to raise. Getting her MA in molecular biology and researching life's secrets led her to notice the clues pointing to hidden things in her family. She started digging, and the results are her books: Missing Insects, Searching for Hugo, and Lina's Love. Her recently published Drawings from the Ripe Side of the Brain is a compilation of portraits drawn by a class at a senior center.
