    • The first print issue should arrive in 6-10 weeks. Details

International Addresses: Magazine subscriptions offered at Amazon.com can only be shipped within the 50 United States, APO/FPO address and U.S. Protectorates. We are unable to process magazines to other destinations at this time. Please contact the magazine's publisher for further assistance.

When to Expect Your First Issue: Magazine subscriptions ordered at Amazon.com are shipped to you by the magazine's publisher. The first issue of a weekly magazine should arrive within 4-6 weeks of your order. The first issue of a monthly magazine should arrive within 6-10 weeks, unless otherwise noted.

Once you've placed an order at Amazon.com, it can take one to two weeks for your subscription to be received and scheduled by the publisher. Your subscription is then added to the publisher's next production cycle and shipped via standard mail. For example, if your monthly subscription was ordered and received by the publisher in November, and the December issue has already shipped, your order may be added to the January mailing. You can find out more information, including how to contact the publisher about your subscription, in Amazon's Magazine Subscription Manager.

Renewing Your Subscription: If you are ordering as a renewal to the same name and address as the current subscription, the publisher will add the Amazon order to your current subscription. For example, if you have 5 issues left and you add 12 through Amazon, you will now have 17 issues left on your subscription. Please note that the expiration date in the Magazine Subscription Manager will not reflect if you were already on file with the publisher. We will work with the publisher to ensure that you still receive all of the issues left on your subscription.

Publication Frequency: Magazines which show "irregular" availability are those which are not published according to a regular schedule. If you place an order for such a magazine, you will receive new issues as soon as they are available.

    • Control your subscription settings anytime using Amazon's Magazine Subscription Manager.
    • If you purchase the auto-renewal offer, your subscription will renew for the same term length at the renewal rate available on Amazon. Cancel anytime.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another cancelled order... July 17, 2010
    Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
As others have stated, probably not a great idea to order Nat Geo through Amazon. I placed my order in June and received a cancellation e-mail from them today. If Amazon can't fill the subscriptions at this price, they shouldn't be offering it. Great magazine, just don't order it here.

    1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy! January 25, 2011
    By DH
    Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
    GREAT MAGAZINE - BUT ...

I can not stress to you enough not to buy this on Amazon through Synapse Services, Inc. You will not get your magazine, you will not receive a refund, and you will waste your time and money! Flush your money, it's more effictive way to get rid of it.

I purchased NG for my father in June 6th 2010 as a renewal to his subscription which was expiring on Feburary 2011. I just got a last chance renewal from NG, they say my subscription is expiring? It should be good till Feburary 2012! They said they did receive an order from Synapse on June 10th but then it was canceled by Synapse in July?

NG was nice enough to give me Synapse's phone number 877-813-0320. Be sure to press 0 and go for the agent, even though it won't help you, the supervisor can't help you either!

I just got off a long phone call with Synapse Services, Inc. they canceled the subscription for no reason on their end. They never fullfilled the request? They say they refunded, but there is no refund, Amazon still has it listed active? I just wanted the magazine, they had already received payment why did they cancel it? They can't tell me? I have never been so disatisfied with a company in my life. I will be contacting Amazon, contacting the Credit Card company for payment with no service, BBB for failure to produce service, etc. I will also issue a invoice to them for my wasted time!

Basically what this company does is when they receive the actual payment from Amazon they then call up NG and cancel your subscription so they don't have to pay NG and they keep the money. Wow; what a great money making business!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT the National Geographic Magazine You Grew Up With December 16, 2015
    By Gary
    Subscription Term Name:1 year
This is NOT the National Geographic you grew up with.
That magazine was sold to Rupert Murdock who quickly destroyed one of the finest magazines in the world.
He fired the entire writing staff and replaced it with "Fox News type writers".

For over 125 years this was the premier magazine of GEOGRAPHY in the world. Under Murdock's regime it has become the laughing stock of the publishing world. A Fall 2015 issue featured the POPE as "cover boy", then two months later The Virgin Mary was on the cover as "the Greatest Woman in the World".

This is no longer a GEOGRAPHY magazine - it exists to promote Murdock's personal agenda.

If you need a religious magazine, opt instead for something like "Catholicism Today". It has well written articles by people who do not cater to low class sensationalism. Otherwise, pass this stinkerooo by..

1.0 out of 5 stars The NatGeo Marketing Arm Needs to Give Me a Break! June 22, 2010
    By D Co
    Subscription Term Name:1 year
If you like getting phone calls while you eat dinner, order National Geographic. While I was looking forward to the great photography, I regret ordering a subscription to NatGeo. Be warned, they will call you while you eat, to pitch "we will you send you a free world map, and a video and if you choose to keep the video, we will only charge you $.$$"
After a long day of answering phones at work, I don't want my home phone to ring. But NatGeo will call, they will call again, sometimes they'll just hang up on you, sometimes they'll pitch a product.
With many print publications dying off due to the internet, it's amazing that NatGeo is driving customers away by becoming a 400 lb gorilla.
And if they call my house again, I will cancel my subscription, take the loss and call it a lesson learned. (and then begin reporting to the no phone sales administration.
    Really sick of it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Prepare to wait a lifetime for your first issue September 10, 2010
    Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
I ordered this subscription to National Geographic in late August. Afterwards, I'm told I wont even get my first issue until late November. So prepare to wait a lifetime if you subscribe here. You may or may not have better luck through the publisher's direct website.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy through Amazon but directly July 24, 2007
    Subscription Term Name:1 year
I bought National Geographics for my elderly father over 3 months ago. To this day no magazines have arrived. Tired of waiting and after a phone call from him, I barred the wait to talked to someone in NG. They told me that going through Amazon takes at least 3 months!!! and that they have shiped my order two day ago and it will take 2 weeks in transport. If I go directly through them it takes 1 months.

1.0 out of 5 stars The magazine unit in Amazon is terrible June 17, 2011
    Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
At the beginning of 2011, I subscribed to "Time" (half year weekly), "Entertainment" (1 year weekly) and "National Geographic" (1 year monthly) through Amazon.com

To my surprise, none of them come through smoothly.

The "time" and "entertainment" stopped delivering after I received my first several issues, and I have to notice them to active the service again, of course, it indicated another whole month of waiting. The reply from the amazon implied that I was not patient enough, as they stated in advance that customer would have to wait before the first issue would come.

Yes and No, because this is the second time I've been waiting for the magazine. Please allow me to write to you OK?

For the "National Geographic", I received both Feb. and Mar. issued at the end of Mar., then, nothing showed in my mailbox, even though I wrote to Amazon again and again and again. They told me that's because the usps can't recognize the address. Maybe, that's right. According to their logic. Seems like, when that address is on "NG", it's gonna be different from the same address on "time" or on "entertainment". (I've to say, I received Time and entertainment using the same address)

Finally, I lost my last little patience, and called off the subscription for that one.

I also removed all my credit card information from Amazon, thus no magazine would be auto-renewed by Amazon without letting me know.

    Live better, avoid Amazon Magazine

    That's my suggestion.

Why are no Subscriptions Available Today??
I'm having the same issue. Downloaded the 50% off voucher specifically to subscribe to this magazine and now it's not available?? That's really bizarre in my opinion. Hope it comes back up before the voucher expiration date. :-(
