"This is perhaps one of the most meaningful books for photographers to include their personal collection. Through the words and unbelievably beautiful images one gets an intense summary course in the field of photography....Outstanding!" --Apogee Photo Magazine
"'Stunning' is an overused word, but it's the only way to describe these photos." --Twin Cities Pioneer Press
"An inspirining collection....There's an unusual diversity in style, theme and subject between the covers of this book. That diversity inspires us to stop running around and look around a minute." --Mike Pisani, Photo Corners

Although this is currently #1 in landscape photography books, it is much more than that. Yes, there are many landscapes, but there are also gorgeous photos of people, birds & animals & other wildlife, sea creatures, sporting events & unique local events, festivals and traditions, such as the Holi festival in India, where "celebrants douse each other with colored powder." They really are stunning.
The photos are broken into the following categories (and there's lots of variety in each section and in the book as a whole):
- Wit (one of my favorite sections--see Kieran Doherty's photo of competitors in the UK Cold Water Swimming Championship--fabulous)
My only problem with this book is that I bought it as a gift... but don't want to give it away. Looks like I'll be buying a second copy. :-)
Whether you win that contest or not, if you get a copy for yourself or for a friend or loved one, you will definitely be a big winner.
Each photograph is truly stunning.
