We all did "questionable" things in college. If you didn't you either lived at home or never left your dorm.
This movie is a classic and a great way to share the college warnings with your kids without using your own stories!
Can we dance with your dates? "Yea so let the big guys dance with your date or don't go places where you don't have backup"
Mr Blucowski--- zero point zero. "Go to class everyday"
That's ok, I am only 13 - "not every girl that is around campus is campus aged. Ask."
"You know what this means---road trip!" - not all events call for a road trip. Especially bad grades.

"Remember - it's a movie. Not a drinking game"

Ok dad.

I laughed when I saw Animal House in the theater almost forty years ago, and I'm still laughing. Yes, it's a lot of gross, inane humor, but it's an iconic American film that just won't go away. It was John Belushi's first big film as he moved from Saturday Night Live TV appearances onto the silver screen. Some trivia: Animal House was also the first film appearance by Kevin Bacon and Karen Allen.

Many would argue that the best Belushi film was The Blues Brothers, but Animal House will always be my favorite. It's true that Belushi doesn't have much dialogue, but his outrageous facial expressions and slapstick antics make his performance a classic. I've read that some of his scenes were improvised, with the director's blessings.

With a fine ensemble cast and a great 60s sound track, Animal House is certainly one of the funniest films of the 1970s, if not all-time.

In the ongoing journey of familiarizing my wife with the movies she missed due to lacking cable as a child, we arrived at "Animal House." It holds up well after nearly 40 years (dang... that long?). Not as consistent or solid as later Landis/Ramis works, but it's kind of cool to see their styles and voices evolve. Lots of actors you know today in tiny roles (Kevin Bacon's first film role, for example...). The jokes hold up well, particularly if the time and setting are taken into account. Belushi has some of the best bits, often without uttering a word. A must-see for film comedy aficionados.

What can I say? A classic of in your face physical comedy. Watch for all of the stars that either ended their acting careers around this time or were just becoming famous (like Tom Hulce). This movie is not for the sensitive and could not be made today..

It's a classic that everyone (over 17?) should see ... especially if they're college-bound or at college ... or went to college ... or wanted to go to college ... or ever thought about going to college. Silly shenanigans and tons of ad-lib'd scenes make the movie a laugh-a-minute.

Flounder gets a lesson in revisionist covering up ones misdeeds, and the guys have some fun.

The quintessential college movie, apologies to Rodney Dangerfield.

Future Senator John Blutarsky and his fraternity buddies having a great time and flunking out of school in 1962! Great comedy. Great Acting. Great Music. A bit of T&A. This is great light hearted entertainment.

A comedy classic that still holds up well.

Ah yes, back in the early 1960s when attending University, even private, was a lot cheaper in real dollars. Allowed for a recklessness that's gone with the wind for the most part these days. But the greek system is still stronger than ever.

Film seems less "wild" than it was 30 years ago. But it is an interesting study in how the underdogs, the flunkies, the cast-offs turn out to be the winners in the end (some of the so-called campus leaders in Omega who pal with the Dean end up either getting tarred working for the Nixon administration or fragged in Vietnam).
