Let me start this review with the elephant in the room: the price. This charging stand is not cheap, not by any stretch of the imagination. At the time of this writing it is selling for $180 and that seems obscene when you can find other charging stands for under $40 here on Amazon. However, I promise you won’t find one more svelte, sleek, or classy looking. You will be hard pressed to find one as sturdy and rock solid as this stand. I have a cheap majority plastic charging stand by my bedside and an even cheaper one on my desk at work. This one is so far and away better than either of those two stands the comparison is humorous. To be honest if it weren’t so expensive I’d buy two more of these and throw away the other two cheap ones.The stand comes well packaged in a small box that looks like an oversized Toblerone. Everything within is wrapped in a soft plastic coating to protect all the surfaces. The box consists of the stand with the phone magnet being permanently attached, the removable watch charging puck, a fabric sheathed cable power unit, and a few inserted warranty and product cards.One of the things I love about this whole unit is that it consists of one cable. No more do I need an iPhone lightning cable, an iWatch cable, and whatever else was needed. Now I just plug the base in to the wall and done. I previously described the cable as “fabric sheathed” as this is the best way I can describe the cable accurately. It isn’t what I’d call braided, but has an old style soft fabric sheath coating the power cable.The iWatch puck is removable which is clever because once removed you have an open USB-C charging port available for anything else you’d like to charge. A note about the charging puck: it works with zero issues. This may seem weird to say but I have been through about 3 different cheap knock off charging pucks here on Amazon and none of them have ever worked. You get what you pay for but I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to pay some $40 per watch charging cable but alas all the knock offs caused my watch to either not charge at all or charge so hot that I feared an overheated watch. No such issues exist here. Once the puck is plugged securely in the back of the base simply put your watch down and the magnet sucks the watch to itself and instantly starts charging your watch.I don’t own a pair of Apple AirPods as I can’t stand the way they fit in my ear. My wife has a pair of Anker earbuds, however, and they’re wireless charging capable. They charge with zero problems as soon she puts them down on the charging surface.The base is super sturdy and you never feel that the unit will get tipped over. The base of the phone charger is permanently attached towards the back of the base and the curvature of the arm is such that when the phone is attached the weight of the phone is distributed directly over the center of the base which keeps things nicely in place. Both the other charging stands I own are lighter and aren’t as well thought out as this and when the phone is attached the weight is positioned in the back of the unit and I’ve tipped the whole thing over more than once just reaching for the phone. No such issues with this unit. The base has two tiny discrete lights on the rear right corner to let you know that a device is charging. One thing to note is that I initially set this base up in my bedroom on my bedside table. I am one of those people who need an absolutely pitch black room at night and have little black patches of electrical tape on any device that emits any kind of light. This unit was no different but I will say that the black tape all but disappeared on the black base so it didn’t stick out. I ultimately relocated this stand down by my couch where I can admire it more appropriately and get better use out of it.I truly cannot say enough good about this charging stand and the only gripe is the high price point. Again, you get what you pay for and you get a lot of class, style, and function from this stand for the price. If you can afford it and you are one who enjoys the nicer things in life then this is for you! If you just need a nice simple charging stand and care more about function over form, then you may want to look elsewhere.I really hope this review was helpful to you.
