Once it dawned on me that the tampons I was putting in my body were not organic and natural, I made the switch to these. My first pack of 16, I wasted about 6-7 trying to put them in. It just would not work. The friction between the cotton and the applicator prevent the applicator from sliding the way it's supposed to. Finally I tried pushing the tampon out almost halfway before inserting, and it worked! Sometimes I even put coconut oil on the tip to ease the process. But once you get it in properly, it wears like any other tampon. You can't feel it inside you, but I will say that it falls easier than other non-organic tampons when using the bathroom regularly. Typically have to change it every or every other time I use the bathroom. Overall good product and I'll stick with it for health reasons.
First time trying this type of tampon. The application process was troubling at times as the applicator couldn't glide smooth and quick. but I figured a way to adjust each one before insertion and was just fine. Second purchase I noticed the applicators didn't have this problem.
As multiple other reviewers have stated, the applicators are definitely an issue!! Oddly, they inconsistently malfunction, approximately one half of them just don't glide. I used cardboard applicators in mainstream tampons and never had this issue. This company really needs to fix this quite frustrating problem!! I gave them 3 stars because they ARE organic and therefore I am not putting pesticide soaked cotton in my body. But Natracare is NO LONGER the only game in town and I would seriously recommend looking elsewhere. LOLA is the brand I use now.
It's worth the occasional frustration because they're so much better for your body. As other reviewers have said, sometimes these applicators don't work. And I for one HATE non-applicator tampons- they disgust me. 1 out of 2 or 3 of these have given me problems, but I deal with it anyway because the absorbency is good, and they're better for my body than the pesticide-filled leading brands.
It seems that all-cotton options available for delivery are few and far between, and I haven't found any sold in stores within walking distance of my condo. These have worked well for me; though I consider them a bit pricey, after reading the recent surge of horror stories and statistics about TSS, I have made an effort to use only organic cotton tampons. Ladies with heavy flow may not find the "regulars" adequate for even a few hours; I would assume the supers are significantly more absorbent.
So, I appreciate the plastic free and natural, but I found them tricky to use. It's gotten a bit better but they're more difficult that some other brands with cardboard applicators. I'm going to search around for another option before I would reorder these.
