I am glad I bought the book and I will read it again and again.
For practical sound advice in a area that can be confusing and fraught with conflicting opinions, Maureen Tierney is to be commended. I found the instructions both easy to understand and confidence inspiring. I have now tried these mothods with my own horse and within one month I can see a dramatic improvement in his feet.
The best thing about this method is it is noninvasive, the horse does not get trimmed so that it becomes sore and yet the hoof grows out fast and healthy.
If you choose to use this method, take photos of your horse's hooves each time before and after you do a trim or bevel so you can compare the pictures for progress. You will be amazed.
Maureen keeps things simple, and easy to understand. Every horse owner can do this, and every horse owner should be able to trim their own horses hooves and manage that health needs in that area. After reading the booklet, ( I also bought the CD from Maureen Tierney website) and in combination I was able to go out and look at my horses hooves and actually understand what was going on with the hoof. Its not complicated or back braking to trim the hooves as some people think it is by Maureen methods of hoof trimming. must get the book and the CD, as the book shows the functionality and explains the workings of the hoof, but the CD shows the how to get that maximum health and integrity of hoof for your barefooted horse.
