After using the same name brand synthetic lubricant for several years I decided I wanted something new and better. I specifically was searching for something that was easily water soluble and mostly natural. After looking around stores such as Target and then looking around Amazon I settled on this to try. After receiving the product I was excited to try it out with the GF. I did have a little trouble with the pump mechanism at first but was then rewarded with the best lubricant we have ever used. Excellent feeling, not sticky, and excess absorbs nicely into the skin without leaving a icky residue feeling. Upon second use I had trouble with the pump again and the bottom of the bottle popped off which was scary until realized there is a "plunger" for lack of better term that keeps the liquid inside the bottle for the most part, because of this there was not a huge mess. I popped the bottom "cap" back on and haven't had any problems with use since. I believe that problem may of been more user error then product flaw(it was dark and my hands were slippery) but I am deducting one star since the bottom still came off. What I like about this product the most is the easy clean up and that it washes right out of bedding if you carried away the amount you use. This is a big improvement from my old brand that usually left behind a bit of a stain on bedding. I also like the amount of natural materials that are used so I feel better for both of us when using this. I would never use synthetics again.

A good lube and potential hedge against HSV-2; just watch for SBS

Very high-quality stuff. It dries out about as fast as silicone-based lube (e.g. Astroglide), but instantly recovers its slippery quality with a few drops of water.

I actually got it for its potential to protect against HSV-2 and HPV. Google around and you'll find a couple mouse studies that found an 85%-90% reduction in transmission, even an hour after application. Note that these studies are indicative and not conclusive, as to date there has been no follow-up epidemiological work on humans (though one study focused on HIV alone found no protective effect whatsoever).

If the human epidemiology supports the mouse findings, then this product could make sex with an HSV-2 positive partner on medication 2-5x less risky than sex with a partner who has never shown any symptoms or signs of HSV-2. Here's the quantitative breakdown per encounter:

Known Carrier: 5% transmission risk x 50% condom effect x 15% carrageenan lube effect x 25% oral medication effect = 0.094% risk of infection.

Asymptomatic: 20% infected x 87% not diagnosed x 5% transmission risk x 50% condom effect = 0.44% risk of infection..

These numbers are for a female-to-male transmission, but the end result is the same for male-to-female, since 10% of the male population is infected and their transmission risk is 10% per encounter. 10% x 10% = 1% = 20% x 5%. I think there's enough information here to calculate the risk of other variations as needed.

Of course you'll want to lube the whole area that could shed the virus. The easiest way to do this is to lube both partners before penetration. Downside? SBS -- slimy butt syndrome. Not always a bad thing!

Anyway, I use it because it's a good lube and a potential hedge against HSV-2.

Nice personal lube and worth purchasing

I purchased this lube because I saw it listed on a natural ingredient personal lubricant website and decided to try it. My man is overseas for awhile so it's for my personal use. The packaging is nice because it doesn't have a pump handle that sticks up, but a low, rounded, built in pump device. There are no spills or leaks with this container. There is also a lid that fits over the top so good for travel.

The lube is not thin but just right, and is very silky. My first impression was that it almost feels like silicone. There is no odor, but any product is going to have some kind of taste. It wasn't an unpleasant taste at all.

It is like most lubes I have tried...it requires some rewetting, or reapplying after a brief period, and this is the only reason for 4 stars. A friend of mine has a very small, travel size squirt bottle which is ideal for rewetting. The product doesn't get sticky and is easy to wash off. I will continue to evaluate this lube but it seems like a very good product.

People are often confused by the word "natural" verses "organic". Organic means raised with out artificial fertilizer and pesticides, not how it was processed into a final product. Though, MOST organic Companies do try to put out a healthy product. Natural means that they have done a better job than the mainstream to keep their produce and final product better for you than the big guys. That doesn't mean it's free of chemical preservatives or going to cure your ills. But as a cook, I can tell you with one glance at the label about everything that is in this. I couldn't say that of the competition.

Carrageenan is a product of the gel found in seaweed. You've been enjoying it in your ice cream and toothpaste for years. Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are food preservatives. You've eaten it no matter how organic you claim to be.

Now I got to using this lubricant because it doesn't contain alcohol. I'm sensitive to harsh chemicals and ky and others didn't help me. This stuff is awesome, but I only gave it four stars because it is true, it must be applied more than once. Otherwise, after doing some homework, for the cost and comparative Ingredients, this is great verses the other natural products.

SODIUM HYDROXYMETHYLGLYCINATE is a known releaser of FORMALDEHYDE and both are very well known to be a STRONG CAUSE of allergic dermatitis. I hope I'll be able to save some of you from this disaster. Not to add that the formula is really sticky whatsoever.
UDAPTE : What I found that suits me the best is the JO H20 for my sensitive skin.

I have to say that I was really dissapointed with this product! I read the reviews before getting this and everyone said they loved it so I took a chance.

I thought this lubricant dried up pretty fast which caused us to constantly keep applying and felt kind of sticky to touch. The taste is a little off putting....I wasn't purposely trying to get the stuff in my mouth but if I accidently did it is pretty gross

I did use the entire bottle and I won't buy another one, we were not a fan.

If anyone is open to another suggestion I would recommend : Water Slide personal moisturizer (water based) that stuff is awesome and it is also natural!

If this product works for you that's awesome, but if not try my suggestion!

This is our favorite lubricant we've tried thus far.

Pros: Contains natural ingredients and provides a nice, pleasing texture. The pump is quite handy too.
Cons: Not as long-lasting or super-slippery as conventional, non-natural lubricants so we found we needed to use more than usual. Also, it's a bit expensive compared to other brands, but it's a fair trade-off considering there aren't any nasty chemicals here.

Overall, this is a great product and we will be purchasing it again.
