Dr. Jillian has a remarkable way of taking the super-sciency processes and making it easy for the lay-person to understand. This comprehensive book educates & entertains on the importance of gut health, provides clinically proven solutions, gut-friendly (yet delicious) recipes, and tips to navigate the modern diet. Digestive issues such as GERD & IBS plague millions...Dr. JIllian (and this book) is THE answer.
Good material full of natural healing ways like natural herbs, supplements and delicious foods.
There are many steps in the book. We don't know exactly which one or combination cured her, but she feels great. The best thing about this book is that it's not a long-term lifestyle change. You go through the plan with the goal of eating like a normal person again.
I had my doubts about this natural remedy, but it really did work.
My family has a history with many of the digestive disorders described in this book and I've tried to incorporate elements of GAPS, SCD, and Paleo diets into my life, but sometimes keeping track of all the information spread over different books based on different theories is very challenging.
I feel like this book gives great suggestions, concise descriptions and strategies for getting to the bottom of one's gut issues. Although the book primarily suggests the changing of diet and the intake of nutritional supplements, there are a few scenarios in which Dr. Teta recommends some conventional medicine approaches, showing that that she is a well-rounded doctor who believes that the sustainable approach to healing ones body involves's individual-based lifestyle changes, but modern Western medicine can sometimes be a player in that process.
I will recommend this book to ANYONE that I know with any digestive issues. It's a great read.
