Only negative: all the zippers are on the back exterior of the pack, so be careful with your valuables as there are no "hidden" pockets and quick hands could get into all 3 zippers pretty quick if you're in a packed subway/bus/crowd...if you're on your board, no worries.
The water bottle holders on both sides tighten down well enough to hold bottles in provided your not rock constantly rock hopping.
I thought I could use the first one for work as it has has more than enough room for my everyday items like lunch, an extra layer, couple tools, phone, wallet keys etc.
I ordered a second and it has worked perfectly for trail running longer distances as well as cycling. You can rig a bladder out the top of the zipper closure without any issues and still have room for other NESSISARRY items I would think. Being a minimalist and an ultra light backpacker, I pack light. If you have large heavy gear or over pack for no apparent reason this pack probably isn't for you.
I was expecting these packs to either A. Have some major quality defects out of the box, or B. Rip to shreads after a week. So far they appear to be holding up nicely and seem to be made quite well. I really don't have anything bad to say about either of the ones I got.
I will add that the first one I ordered shipped to me from the U.S. and the second from China. Both appear to be identical and without issue. Only difference was the shipping on the China one and that it took a couple weeks to arrive, which I was aware of when ordering.
Compared to the big name brands, this pack is a heck of a deal considering price, durability and functionality.
Updated--Ok I just realized there is a side zipper that opens up to the main compartment. Now this is exactly what I was looking for, a lightweight pack to carry a small to medium amount of stuff for one day of hiking.
