My daughter and I have been taking this product for years for a immune system boost. We have four bottles of Sambucus, on auto delivery a month. We have always had this product come in glass bottles! I understand you probably had some breakage but something is off, the taste has changed and something has changed in it effectiveness! I started to take Sambucus as a immune boost, to my surprise, my weather related migraines disappeared! They seem to be starting again! We usually mix the Sambucus with water and drink it over a couple hours unfortunately it seems to be fermenting in the glass, that has never happened! I read a article once that said you should never put acidic products in plastic it pulls out the petroleum from the plastic which then gets into the food, could this be the problem? In addition, why, when we are trying to eliminate plastic from the environment would you change the wonderful glass bottle that was your previous container to plastic?
I am writing a updated addition to my October 19,2018 review. It is almost a year later since that review, October 7, 2019.
Around a week or so ago I received a order for two Sambucus 16oz. bottles. One bottle was glass and one bottle was plastic because of this I was able to do a side by side taste test proving my previous review to be spot on! (FYI, I mix two teaspoons Sambucus with 3 cups of water). The Sambucus from the plastic bottle had a unpleasent taste and smell immediately and fermented within a half hour in the glass drinking cup. The Sambucus from the glass bottle tasted of berries with a pleasent taste and smell and lasted about 4 hours sitting out when I finished it, still tasting as if I had just made it! So, in my opinion, and proving my previous review to be true, the plastic bottle is changing the product (Sambucus) inside of it!

The marketing/advertisement on this bottle is misleading - the actual amount of Black Elderberry is NOT 12,000 mg per serving, it's actually only 2,500 mg per serving. Huge difference. If you look closely at the front of the bottle where the yellow label is, it actually says " Made FROM 12,000 mg Black Elderberries per serving" which is not the same as the original formula. The original formula from the manufacturer indicates 12,000 mg per serving. This one I got from Amazon is only 2,500 mg per serving. It is false advertisement to indicate it as " Original" when it is not. Makes me wonder if I'm just taking in more of fillers like glycerin, water than the berries itself. Lesson learn to really read your labels carefully! This one is definitely one of the more trickier ones! Also, I am disappointed that this 16 oz was bottled in plastic and not glass. The " original" ones came bottled in glass!

I’m really hoping this is still the same as what I bought almost a yr ago. I bought this product because it has the most sambucus mg/serving. So I went through my orders to find it, and purchased it again. The lebeling has changed. The supplement facts have changed also. Now it’s 30 more calories (not a big deal), but there’s is also 9g of carbs per/2tsp serving and 1g of sugars that wasn’t there before. It still has good recent reviews so we shall see. I dislike it when companies do this. (Bottle purchased last yr on the left, bottle that arrived today on the right).
