Not the same company as the old Nature's Miracle
Had to return this product. Though I have used Nature's Miracle for decades, this has a new strong odor that makes myself and family ill. If I store it in the garage, the odor still permeates the house. This is not the same company as the old Nature's Miracle. NM sold their name to a new company and became Petastic. On the label of the Petastic™ bottle (or gallon jug, in our case), in 2006 was the following message: "Nature’s Miracle® is a registered trademark of Pets ‘N People, Inc. Venus Laboratories, Inc., is the creator and owner of the formulation previously supplied to Pets ‘N People for its Nature’s Miracle® brands of stain & odor removers. Venus Laboratories, Inc., is now marketing the formulation under the brand name Venus Pet Products stain & odor removers. Venus Laboratories, Inc., is not affiliated with Pets ‘N People, Inc." Are Petastic™/Venus Labs and Nature’s Miracle® the same product? The company says: "The people that make Petastic™ made the original Nature’s Miracle® formula, which they own. The current Nature’s Miracle® formula is not the original formula. Petastic™ stain & odor remover is the original formula. So the short answer is no."
Most recently I used it in a situation that I thought was hopeless and ANM still worked. I live in an old home in a semi-rural area. When the weather was humid there was a smell in a lower level bedroom I couldn't get rid of and it turned out many generations of mice had set up housekeeping inside the wall between the drywall and the foundation. The foundation was half-height in this room (with the windows at ground level), so there was a shelf built on top of the foundation half-wall that ran the length of the outside wall and it turned out that the original construction technique provided a "super-highway" for the mice to run on top of the foundation and drop down between ALL the studs, not just one spot. We had to remove all the drywall and I was horrified to discover the mice had been living there for decades. It took that long for the accumulated mouse-urine smell to finally permeate the drywall.
The filth they left behind was overwhelming. We removed and threw out all the drywall. What remained was the concrete foundation and the wooden studs that would hold up the drywall. The fecal matter and urine were caked like pools of dried tar on both horizontal and vertical surfaces of both the wood and concrete. It was a daunting project, but I really didn't want to burn the house down and start over. I scraped off what I could with a putty knife and then working with a small section at a time, I'd thoroughly spray with Advanced Nature's Miracle, scrub like the dickens with a stiff brush, then blot up the disgusting mess with paper towels and repeat the process. At the end of the day I sprayed the entire concrete and wood surface until saturated and left it over night to dry. The next day I repeated the entire process. It was a lot of work, but in the end I had pretty much eliminated the mouse odor altogether. You couldn't smell it when you walked into the room and could only get a faint whiff if you put your nose right up to the wood. The wooden studs that had appeared almost black with mouse-waste now appeared to look like normal wood for the most part.
I didn't know how deep into the wood I could get the ANM to penetrate, but I was very satisfied with the point we had reached and I thought a couple of coats of primer would finish the job. I put a fan on it and dried it thoroughly for a few days. After that I applied 3 coats of Kilz Maximum primer, letting it dry 24 hours between coats. At the end of this ordeal, there was absolutely no bleed through on the primer and there was not the faintest trace of mouse leftover. The foundation and studs were hospital-white and everything smelled clean and fresh. An absolutely amazing transformation.
Advanced Natures Miracle works - but you have to follow the directions. Sometimes it takes some elbow grease to help it work, but it is effective if you allow it to saturate whatever is holding the odor so it can do its job. Sometimes you have to repeat the process -- but if you want to end up with a clean, fresh space afterwards, Advanced Nature's Miracle is definitely the product to use.
Wow way too much perfume added. This product used to be great. It had a pleasant smell that was clean and not too overpowering. They have "improved" the formula and it is very perfumed. If you are a person with allergies it may aggravate your respiratory system. It however still works to remove the odor of the pets, or in the bathroom. It has always been very impressive at removing odors. It is sad that they have ruined it.
I currently use this product as part of my litterbox cleaning toolkit, it really does help clean and deodorize the box. I use it after I've emptied and disinfected the box, I liberally soak it in this then let it sit a few minutes before rinsing and drying it. It smells like new, and the box is now well over a year and half old! I've had people come into my apartment and if they hadn't seem my cats or my litterbox, they'd have never have known I had them, in part due to this product helping me with odor.

However, I'm reviewing it already with two stars off, just because of the smell. It really stinks, even in the unopened bottle :( One of those strong chemical smells that catches your throat and makes you wonder if you're even safe inhaling it.
I do not think it works as well and the smell is not the same. This is a shame as I did like the smell and action of the mix in the spray, the 1gal was cheaper so I ordered that.
As some reviewers mentioned, the smell of the cleaner is very strong. But I’ll take that strong chemical smell over cat urine, I guess.
And my home made concoctions of dish soap, vinegar, bleach & baking soda were not working…
As the instructions say, you cannot dilute, I tried this the first time on carpet and it didn’t work.
On carpet I soak a rag with the cleaner and thoroughly moisten the smelly carpet. Then the room starts to reek quite terribly of cat pee. This is alarming but don’t panic.
After the area dries (over a few days) the smell of urine and cleaner fade. Once the area is completely dry there is only the faint smell of the cleaner. Once it is dry I check for any residual pee smell and then spot clean. If I can smell it so can the kitties…. cat mom logic…
This entails getting your nose right down in there to find any pee smells. I’ve had to take a whiff of coffee grounds to ‘cleanse my palette’ in between sniffing carpet, cleaning carpet, and sniffing carpet.
I am developing a keen nose for cat pee. Old pee? New pee?? Litter box pee???
There are previously stained areas that are now completely free of the smell of cat pee or cleaner, so it is working.
And, the cats haven’t gone back to the areas I’ve used the product on, which is the goal. On to finding new places to pee! Or hopefully not...
Besides carpet I have also used this cleaner on suitcases, in the laundry, on walls, couches etc…
Once I am satisfied I have cleaned an area of pee and it is dry, I spray some cat pheromone () around, sprinkle some powdery cat nip, and place some toys and/or cat treats.I also use the Feliway diffuser which I am convinced helps our four carts chill out. In fact most of the peeing started when I ran out of it.
