The taste is what struck me the most. (Yes, I am mom, I taste test...if I don't like it, the kids won't)...they remind me of PEZ candy! They actually taste better than the "regular" (full of dyes/junk/sugars) chewables you can get at any big box store (flintstones, etc)...there's no odd aftertaste.
He takes them willingly. He gets to choose which color animal he wants and happily chews them.
Excellent dye free chewable for kids for those looking to rid their kids of all the "fluff n stuff" in their diets.
For those who are not familiar with vegetarian vitamins..... Most vitamins contain gelatin, which is animal bone marrow and Vitamin D3, which is also animal based. These do not.
Animal Parade Grape Flavor meets all our criteria - both my sons will take them, even the one who is picky on flavor and texture. It has a range of vitamins and minerals and nothing over of 100% daily requirements. As a side note, we tried the package with orange, cherry and grape flavors. My sons did not like the orange or cherry ones, and thought the grape from this package tasted different (not as good) than the grape in the all grape package, so I am back to buying the all grape kind.
Thanks for posting this info and thanks to Amazon for allowing these honest and informative reviews. Google FDA multivitamin lead.
UPDATE: I am still surprised that a company like this can knowingly put out a vitamin for children that includes lead. Now after some major searching and studying the info out there, I have found that Kids One MultiStars is the best alternative for us. It has one of the lowest lead counts that is FDA tested and is gluten free and allergen free. It includes vegetable sources where possible, probiotics, and my daughter says they taste good. I would recommend Kids One MultiStars.
The only downside is they have Folic Acid (synthetic folate) instead of natural folate.
