I was a bit skeptical, but this stuff WORKS - just as well as Roundup without poisoning Mother Earth! Highly recommended to the eco-conscious.

Horticultural vinegar is a very effective herbicide. It kills weeds on contact. It is not an pre-emergent or systemic weed killer. It kills only plants that it lands directly upon. For this reason it does not transfer to nearby plants. It works best in warm weather and direct sunlight. It will work in other conditions, only more slowly.

I live near a river and a creek, so I am careful with the chemicals that I use. In this day and age I think we all need to be aware of the harm of the chemicals that we put into the environment.

I got this after researching pet safe methods of removing dandelions from my lawn. I also purchased the Bayou Classic 5011 2-Ounce Stainless-Steel Seasoning Injector with Marinade Needles from Amazon to inject the active plant roots with 3/4 of an ounce of 20% Vinegar. Bingo, within 4 hours the nasty weeds were shriveled up and dead and my Maine Coon cat was free to roam the yard with impunity. This method kills all of the deep roots of the dandelions. Some follow up treatments are necessary if you miss the center of the root clusters.

i sprayed the vinegar on the thistles and in 4 hours - direct sun - they were totally brown and the next morning they were totally dead. I have also used it on poison ivy and burdock and it works on both, just takes a little longer. Kills most anything it touches. Wear a mask while spraying as it is strong.

We used the vinegar (mixed with d-limonene and a little dish soap) to kill the weeds in our brick pavers. Worked like a charm! This is not your grannie's vinegar and you MUST protect your eyes from splashes!! It's eco-friendly and works great though!

This year we cut down running bamboo and I am cutting the culms that grow every day. since also applying a spray of this vinegar to each cut the amount I have to cut has been drastically reduced... I actually think I may win this after all. I would highly recommend this product...

I know this would work, because for 15 years I've used eco-safe vinegar for weeds, too. However, the cheaper, regular strength distilled white vinegar at the grocery works fine. I just pour it straight on the offending weeds, dandelions, etc. Save money & buy the biggest, cheapest bottles you can find. Takes the rust off all your garden tools, too. Vinegar is a miracle product anyone wanting to go green can use for about 100 household uses.

A decent, broad spectrum killer. Worked very well on certain weeds (those with actual leaves); not so well on others (the leafless briars that are common in West-Central TX).
