In addition Fennel has many health benefiting nutrients, essential compounds, anti-oxidants, dietary fiber, minerals, and vitamins. Fiber in Fennel helps increase bulk of the food by absorbing water throughout the digestive system and easing constipation condition. This soft, slender perennial plant has many culinary uses. The roots are commonly used as medicine. The bulb is shaved into salads, pickled, or roasted until achingly sweet and tender. The flowers are used as a finishing herb and flavoring for delicate spirits. The seeds are added to all sorts of foods, and medicinally they act as both a digestive and a breath freshener. Fennel leaves are used as leafy green vegetables either by themselves or mixed with other vegetables, cooked to be served and consumed as part of a meal, in some parts of India. It is an essential ingredient of the Assamese/Bengali/Oriya spice mixture panch phoron and in Chinese five-spice powders. Ground fennel has numerous uses, from soups and chowders, to braises and breads. However, a favorite use is to combine it with salt and pungent spices like cardamom or black pepper and create a rub for root vegetables.

Everything about this product was great, (quality of seeds, smell, etc.)
Up until we started to dispense the product into smaller jars for storing and small use.
My wife as she was pouring into a jar noticed a small black tapered object that did not look like a seed.
Upon further examination we determined it to be a small rat turd.
Beware that this product is from india and I am assuming that weather it was packaged here in the USA or in India somewhere along the way a critter got into the mix. We will not be buying from this company any longer. Quality control of this type of ingrediant is and should be of the highest priority. (At least in our opinion).
