I tossed back my drink at the sound of her name and rolled my eyes. I was considering walking right back into that boardroom and telling her to bend over that chair. ;)
Yes, Micheal really owed his business partner Brad big time for finding Mya.

Normally any novella longer than say a few chapters would be impossible for me to read in one sitting. I’m simply too sleep deprived and ADD on the regular to crush a book that fast. But Naughty Boss was a surprisingly quick and entertaining read for me. I inhaled it like a coke addict!
I really loved being in the heads of these two very intelligent lead characters and witnessing their discovery that they not only had chemistry but also had more in common than either could have guessed. Michael and Mya’s office novella romance had a lot of fun, laugh out loud, interesting and most definitely sexy moments.
“Why are you being so god---- difficult?” He pressed his forehead against mine. “I really need you to stay here with me today…”
“Then I need you to give me a worthwhile reason to.”
His lips suddenly crashed against mine and his arms went around my waist, his fingers deftly unfastening the belt of my coat.
Of course, I loved, loved the way that scene played out!
The corporate publishing world setting added a nice cool factor to me. I especially liked that their professional-turned-sexual relationship pacing does occur over a year’s time, giving it some actual time depth, and that the epilogue gave us a nice jump into their future.
And I crazy love this cover! It’s bright, crisp and strong. I’m a sucker for email communication in novels for some odd reason, so I also loved the email formatting in the chapters.
Dirty Doctor is up next in the Steamy Coffee Collection series, and I look forward to inhaling that one soon as well.
I am a sucker for office romances, so I devoured this as soon as it was available on my kindle. The gist of the situation is that Michael is a CEO of a respected publishing company, who has a bad public reputation and a knack for not being able to keep executive assistants. His advisor, Brad, convinces Michael to clean his act up and that he (Brad), will vet assistants until he finds one that can survive Michael's demands.
Fast foward a year, during which Mya has been working for Michael. No matter how much she likes her job and the perks (she has her own driver!) she cannot stand her boss. She likes to rant to her best friend Amy about him, via email. Unfortunately, one of those rants gets sent to wrong email, and suddenly Michael is aware that his assistant both hates him and would like to sleep with him!
This was a short but fun novella. Whitney G knows how to pen lovable assh**ls, and I loved the interactions between Michael and Mya. He could be sweet in such curious ways (little details) and I enjoyed how Mya made Michael respect her and appreciate what she did for him. Overall, this was a very fast-paced read. My only complaint is how abruptly this book ended. It could have done with a chapter more or a longer epilogue.
Because NAUGHTY BOSS is a novella, everything moves at a very fast pace, with the story including two yearly skips in time: one at the beginning and another at the end. NAUGHTY BOSS is told in dual POVs and comes with a short and sweet HEA for Michael and Mya. It is part of a series, but each novella can be read as a stand-alone. I read this series out of order (I started with book two, DIRTY DOCTOR), and from memory, Michael and Mya aren’t mentioned in that story at all.
Mya and Michael have great interactions and I love that you get to see the story from both of their perspectives. A fair bit of the story is told through emails between Mya and her best friend, and then between Mya and Michael. At first, I found some of the emails a little irritating, but once Amy (the bestie) pointed out the same thing, it became less annoying. I also didn't think Michael was really that bad at the beginning. She is an EA and he was asking for reports/books/contracts, none of which seemed unreasonable to me. Though, I admit, the you're welcome part is a bit rude.
At any rate, the point is, Whitney G did a wonderful job of making things I originally found annoying into something fun and bringing out the best of Micheal and Mya in very few pages. Their relationship felt more developed and real than a lot of full novels I have read. I am looking forward to picking up more of her books.
