I plugged it in and everything worked! I've had a chance to use the treadmill a handful of times now and it works great! It doesn't feel cheap and I have not felt the belt slip at all. I highly suggest this treadmill if you are looking for a quality machine but at a fair price.
It's a nice looking machine and is solid and sturdy. I had it professionally assembled so can't comment personally on putting it together, it's very heavy though so I wouldn't recommend doing it by yourself. It folds up, not very compactly but enough to make room on the floor and vacuum underneath it. It has wheel so you can move it but I find it impossible to move by myself, especially the way it's described in the instructions on how to move it and especially for someone my size, which is 5'7" and ~ 135 lbs -- definitely a 2 person job for me which is not what I had expected (they make it sound so easy!) but I guess that's reality for this size machine so I'm okay with it.
The built-in fan has three speed settings, or at least I'm guessing because they all feel the same to me lol. You can also adjust the vent up and down. Overall though the fan is pretty much useless because it does not provide a strong enough airflow for me to even feel. The cord provided to plug in a music player, my iPhone in my case, may not fit in the jack on your phone/music player if you have a protective case on it, so that is disappointing considering that most people these days use their phone as their primary/only music player and usually have a protective cover on it.
The cushioning in the strike zone feels a little more firm than I would like, we'll see if it softens up over time. Also I tend to run a little more forward on the treadway and the cushioned strike zone is more in the middle so I have to move back a little bit to find the sweet spot. The length of the treadway is 55" and is fine for me although the width of 20", while adequate, does feel a little narrow and I now appreciate the bigger ones at the gym that have ample room. Anyway, this will take some getting used to.
You can save up to 4 user profiles which is nice. The couple of preset programs I've used have been great and I can further customize them to my desired incline/speed settings throughout the workout. I wish I could saved my customized workouts...I don't know if I'm able to or not at this point, will have to look it up in the manual, but there's no obviously way to do it looking at the display screen.
I find the noise level of the machine to be acceptable, it's neither super quite nor excessively loud. I'd love to try a treadmill with a more powerful motor to compare the noise levels.
Overall it's a good first home treadmill, with an nice range of incline and speed settings and preset programs for a decent price. I probably would have spent the little bit extra money for the T616 but it wouldn't have shipped for 1-2 months and I wanted one NOW! Lol
