The Navy's Night Before Christmas Hardcover – Picture Book, September 9, 2014
Purchase options and add-ons
’Twas the night before Christmas, when way out to sea
Not a creature was stirring to windward or lee.
The sailors were nestled all snug in their racks
Like orders of pancakes, so tight were the stacks.
One Christmas Eve out at sea, some homesick sailors are paid a visit by Master Chief Claus, the Santa of Sailors. This lively and poignant tale was inspired by Clement C. Moore’s classic yuletide poem.

About the authors

I'm a big lover of animals and nature! I spend most of my time outdoors soaking up the rays. I hope you too have time to spend reading but instead of cooped up indoors, take your book to the park, beach, anywhere you can hear the birds. Enjoy!

Trish Holland was born and raised in Mississippi. She grew up surrounded by loving family, friends, music, books, and a grandmother who told fantastic bedtime stories. Trish holds a bachelor’s degree in music therapy and a master’s degree in public health with a specialization in maternal and child health. She worked in psychiatric hospitals for many years. Now she’s happily settled with her husband in Dallas, Texas. Her two children have left the nest, so she has plenty of time to indulge her love of writing for very young people. To pursue her passion for literacy, Trish recently founded a literacy program through the Dallas Public Library and Ft. Worth Public Library to provide picture books and literacy information to the mothers of all babies born in the public sector hospitals of those cities (www.booksfortexasbabies.com). It is adorable, great for sailors of all ages or kids of sailors. Both my husband and I were tearing up when reading through this book. As soon as my husband read it he ordered a copy for his dad who had also served in the Navy.
My brother loved it and so did my father-in-law.
My FIL said they all gathered around the fire on Christmas Eve and read it aloud.
