The book expands the amount of information greatly on several of Albert E. Kahn's warnings from his several expose' books from 1942-1955 about the American - German - Nazi connections that began in 1916 when Germany realized that it might lose the Great War and began making preparations for a second war, putting in place deep business connections to hinder and control U.S. entry in a second war, via control of patents, business boardroom financial integration, setting up contract and war production bottlenecks in the 1920s and 1930s, looting the U.S. Navy's strategic petroleum reserve in the 1920s, setting up key monopolies for war materiel, establishing business contacts in South American subsidiaries of U.S. corporations, handicapping U.S. industrial R&D during the 1930s, and throttling U.S industrial war conversion and production up into late 1942.
The first half of the book is presented in scattershot details about the 1916-1945 period; as other reviewers have noted, the presentation would have been improved with better editing, better organizing what comes through as too much information. The second half of the book more readily lays out the development of the CIA and Cold War developments, U.S. rehabilitating ex-Nazis into the U.S. economy and manufacturing since, rearming and reintegrating Germany with the West after the 1945 surrender.
The most telling aspects of the book come early, during the Depression-1944 period when U.S. business interests were undermining attempts to look into and control German spying and sabotage going into 1942, flipping congressional investigations from Nazi spying and sabotage towards anti-communism, third-party war materiel trading being routed through neutral (South American and African) nations, such as petroleum/gasoline being supplied through Vichy France's African colonies and Franco's Fascist Spain into late 1944, handicapping U.S. aviation production and development, choking off production of aluminum and machine parts, off-shore banking transactions, active domestic U.S. citizen - Nazi sedition issues during the war, etc....
