I ordered this because I had to travel by car 19 hours with my two dear cats, who absolutely HATE being enclosed and inside of a car.. But they were but so great! The ride ended up being a bit longer than planned, at 28 LONG hours. But I was more fussy than my cats, long story short. It's super roomy, they comfortably used the portable little box. (Although I did have to adjust the box a few times due to its soft material) I wouldn't use this product for regular trips to the vet however, it's huge and easily collapsible, so it's better for distance than to actually use as a carrier by foot.
A true life saver! We've just relocated across the pacific and our kitty was in transit for over 30 hours in total - cars, planes, airports. This portable litter box worked magic - we used it in the lavatory on the plane and at a quiet empty terminal in Amsterdam during a 7 hour layover. We carried the sand in two small zip lock bags and that was sufficient. He used it 3 times and i wouldn't know how we would have done it otherwise.Huge thanks and kudos to the inventors.
I would not recommend this cat carrier. This lasted one trip with my cat of about 15-20 minutes before she was able to bust out of the mesh--it never stood a chance! I wanted to like this carrier since it's so compact and light, much easier to manage than hard carriers, and had been encouraged by the positive reviews but it just didn't work for us.
It's nice, light and pretty strong. My 'found' cat had kittens in April and I needed a better solution to cart them back and forth to the vet while shots and such were being taken care of. The mom is a slight of a cat, practically a kitten herself, but she managed to bite a small hole in the door mesh while trying to get out and of course that turned into a bigger hole, (I used some cord thread and 'darned' that right up), not enough to let them out, but enough to make them poke their faces thru during trips and waiting room antics. The three panel mesh is good as it lets them look out but feel safe and not 'trapped'
The mom weighs ~7 pounds and the kittens are up to ~3 pounds now and there's been no worry with all three in. Mom's brother/cousin was taken to the vet in the carrier as well and he weighs ~10 pounds (little less now that he's been fixed lol) I forget what the limit is (20?) but feels strong.
You may not want to read this if you are squeamish... The first trip to the vet for shots and checkup I had the mom and two kittens all together in this, (It's pretty big/roomy) and along the way one kitten barfed, and pee'd and the other kitten left a present. Needless to say, mom kitty wasn't too happy, but they all managed. The vet had towels and I managed to clean them up enough (I now take puppy training pads and lay them inside the carrier, but so far no need). When I got home, I unzipped and hosed it off fully then I tossed it into my Samsung washer and turned on the STEAM option, added pre-wash, extra rinse, extra dirty and low spin, this came out 2 hours later all fresh and happy. I hung it on the fence in the sun to dry and it's still like new! Try that with your hardshell cat prisons!
After the first trip nervous stomachs, every thing has been fine.
It unzips all the way so if your kitty is shy about coming out, you can just zip away and suddenly there is no more carrier! The kitties love playing around and inside it so until they get all grown up, I keep it in the mudroom and they jump and sometimes sleep in it. They manage to unzip it on their own sometimes and I'll wake up to a flat carrier.
I know it is supposed to twist/fold for storage, however, I have not tried this feature.

This is a nice carrier for short trips in the car; I took my 12lb-er to the vet in it recently and he fit comfortably. I will use it for my 10lb-er also but I wouldn't use it for my big 18lb boy. I think it would be too flimsy for him and too hard for me to hold, but you may think differently. I love that it folds flat but I haven't been able to fold it up in the manner it arrived. The carrier comes with a big yellow tag on it written in Japanese. A friend graciously translated it for me: I think the company is being overly cautious but here goes: Caution This product is folded by spring force, so it may open vigorously.. When you assemble this product, keep it a distance from your face and please assemble slowly. Keep children’s hands a distance from product.

We purchased two Necoici cages for our cats for a two-day cross-country drive. Our cats don't always get along and they're both larger (12 and 13 pounds) so there was no way one cage would have worked for both cats. One cat figured out how to pull the zipper open pretty quickly but that was easily resolved by putting the zipper pulls in the corner where she couldn't get to them. Both cats are quite big and the included litter boxes are considerably smaller than what they normally use, however, there were no issues with either cat using the small litter boxes.
When we stopped overnight at a hotel we were able to carry the cats in their cages to the hotel room without any problems. There are two handles at the top.
Our long drive was much calmer - for us and the cats - because they each had their own large cage with litter, food and water.

My two cats traveled from Seattle to the SF Bay Area more comfortably than any others I've done that drive with thanks to think carrier. They are big kittens (over 13lbs each) and had plenty of room. The carrier was secured with seat belts which made me feel much better about their safety. And despite his best efforts, our boy cat did not manage to break through the mesh covering when he was trying to figure out what the carrier was and why he was stuck in it. A+ product in my book and we'll keep using it for trips to the groomers/vet/etc.

When I hurt my neck I needed something light to carry my kitten(s) in when they were going to the vet. This carrier is very light, folds flat when the kitten is being seen at the vet, and can be reduced to something the size of a tea plate when not in use (although folding it can be fun!). It is large enough that when the kittens are older they will still fit comfortably, but only one at at time. Very good product.

Love this, lightweight and will flat pack. My kittens love playing in it, so that it hasn't been a stress to get them in it to go to the vets.
4stars only because i am not sure of durability...my oldest kitten now nearly 6months old started scratching at the material on the way to the vets when stressed. So far no damage, but don't know how it will hold up when she is fully grown.
Otherwise really happy with this and everyone comments on the neat, lightweight design.

This is just what I needed. I used to have a small plastic tray for travelling, but it was a pain to carry it around. This portable litter tray is very light, sturdy, and conveniently foldable. The material makes it very easy to clean. In my case, I bought the portable cage from the same set which makes things even easier as it fits nicely in the cage, very useful if you travel with your cats by car.

Item as described, arrived in quick time. However, this is really designed for quite small cats...after a few outings with my cat (standard size) the zipper is pulling away from the fabric.
