Evan Bishop is not only sarcastic, broody, and closed off, but infuriating at times... and mine. Emily Bell is sassy and ballsy, yet vulnerable and very, very determined. Together, these two deliver a quickwitted and comical banter to lighten the mood from the emotional baggage of their past. The same baggage that had them both throwing caution to the wind and indulging in one night, except that one night followed them both to work.
Though Needing Him takes us off the ranch at times and gives us an inside look at the hustle and bustle everyday life of emergency room doctors, the same southern warmth, hometown charm, and memorable family dynamic that Kennedy Fox used to set the tone of this series is still very much present.
Needing Him captivated me with it's premise, hooked me with it's cover, but it was the passion dripping off the pages, the mystery that had me questioning so many things all at once, that witty repartee that only an enemies-to-lovers romance can emanate, and those unexpected moments and surprises that utterly and wholeheartedly consumed me!
Note: And that ending?! John Bishop!! WHAT?!
Where do I even begin with this book? It’s no surprise Kennedy Fox writes a book so intriguing as much as it is inticing, it wasn’t meant to be read other than cover to cover. Needing Him went BEYOND all my expectations. You always go into a KF Book thinking you’ll know exactly what you’re getting and then it ends up being something beyond your wildest imagination!
This book legit had EVERYTHING! From the perfect head butting comradeship mixed with an undeniable attraction between two doctors, to unyielding love and compassion between two people destined to be together no matter the odds. There were so many elements that made Evan and Emily’s story what it was. It’s the little things that matter most in this book. With all of this and a little suspense thrown in and it’s KF’s best book to date!
It doesn’t matter the type of romance you’re used to. Needing Him is a book every avid reader and lover of romance can devour and worship. Not to mention, KF always can throw in a good epilogue that just leaves you begging for more on said couple as much as the following book!
Definitely an easy fav of 2018 and my fav book to date my none other than my fav unicorns!
Standalone though part of a larger series
Told from both POVs
No major editing issues
Evan Bishop is a no nonsense doctor. He isn’t looking for love and he isn’t out there getting with every other girl he meets either.
Emily Bell is fresh out of catching her ex cheating and wants a new start. She isn’t looking for long term and doctors are on her do not touch list.
They meet unexpectedly at a wedding and both decide one night is all the need or want. No personal information, no exchanging numbers.
What they didn’t expect was to end up workin side by side. Especially after a major misunderstanding the morning after that ends with Emily stealing all of Evans clothes and leaving him to have to explain to his brothers why he is stuck naked in a hotel room.
The banter between these two is epic. They verbally annihilate each other so well I found myself cracking up. And don’t get me started on the tension that grows. The best part is when it all boils over.
This book is the perfect blend of drama, laughter, love and super hot intimate moments.
A must read.
