This is one of the CUTEST paper-piecing pattern books I've seen in a long time. Lots of blocks, lots of patterns and project ideas, and good instructions. I found it absolutely charming! - I've been recommending it to foundation-piecing loving students! If you need something special for your sewing room, or for sewing friends, this one is well worth the cost.

A quilting friend who spoke only English took a trip to Europe. How did she get other quilters to walk up to her on the street and introduce themselves? She wore a jacket with motifs from this book!

I'm perhaps an advanced beginner quilter, who was looking for a fun paper pieced project. This was it. The directions were very clear with tips that helped me avoid beginner errors that I kind of expect to make. The pieces went together quickly, so I could start one design and complete it in one session, giving me that immediate satisfaction that large projects sometimes take months to achieve. Many examples given how to join the individual pieces and finishing choices. They were just fun to make.

Are you a paper-piecing fan or do you want to learn? Needles and Notions will walk you through how to do paper-piecing blocks. If you already know, then this will give you some sewing notions - - sewing machine, needles, irons rotary cutter and the like, to work on.

21 pages take you through how to do a paper-pieced block from the tools and fabric you will need to what the terms mean to actually doing a paper-pieced block. The 12 blocks include sewing notions and a big hatted girl. There is a section on how to embellish the blocks by adding buttons or embroidery stitching.

There are eight quilt patterns using these blocks from an actual quilt to wall hangings. Colored photos of the item are included with cutting and material lists. Directions for making the item are straight forward. A short bio about the author can be found on the last page.

If you like a sewing room theme and paper-piecing, this is a book you shouldn't pass up.

Literally, yes it will- CUT your pieces of fabrics and design away.... YOU will want to do them all in one day. Ok, that is not possible? I tried, but I did get 4 done for an upcoming blog hop in Red, White and Blue. Surely my paper piecing choices will
reflect my love for sewing and quilting. If you are included in that, if paper piecing is something you would like to challenge yourself in...take a peak here... The scissors, iron, needle and spools of threads can fit into any quilt design.
Paper piecing is here to stay as long as we keep getting designers and book publishers like this to keep coming up with lovely designs.
