BAD NEWS: These are NOT HEAVY DUTY! In fact they are among the lightest weight stands you can buy. Whoever wrote the product description is not a photographer and has no knowledge of the marketplace. NOT RECOMMENDED for monobloc strobes or tungsten lights. Put anything of medium weight on these and they'll bend and tip over! 2 out of 10 were damaged in shipping. I'm still working the return out now. Additionally - the photo shows that the head has a 1/4 twenty screw on the top. NO SCREW ON THIS MODEL!!! So if you intend to mount something with a screw base, you'll have to buy an additional adapter.

GOOD NEWS: The company seems responsive and I'm hopeful for a refund. The stands are worth the price, as long as they arrive unbroken and you use them for LIGHTWEIGHT PURPOSES.

very wide spread at bottom feet, which is good.

I was expecting horrible flimsy stands, that you could topple over just by blowing on them. Instead these are quite light weight however they have a huge spread at the foot. The fact that the spread of the 3 legs is very wide, makes these stands quite hard to topple over.
I also own about six PBL stands, which are much heavier and better built, however these neewer stands are not bad at all. These stands are little bit like "Target" "expect more and pay less".

Sturdy and great value for the price

We use these for school photography so they get heavy usage on a daily basis. They are tall and sturdy so they hold alien bees, novatron lights and backgrounds without issue.

The only downside is that after heavy use the screws that hold it together start to strip and fall out. The screw on the bottom of the tripod will be the first to go. For the price they are a great deal - if you are going to set them up and tear them down frequently just know that they will probably wear out within a year or so.

I got these for my vive; and I am still using them. I have to say though that you should probably look elsewhere if you are using them for your vive.

The reason being that the tightener to keep the base legs narrow is badly designed and cannot really keep the feet stable on a narrow footprint.

For 99% of cases it's fine, but if you are using it for a vive, then it is probably taking up part of the play area, and not being able to keep a narrow footprint stably is just annoying. They seem decently well built; are stable on a wide footprint, but on a narrow footprint they just slowly drift out of place because you can't really tighten it enough.

Can't beat the price, I use these for my HTC Vive Sensors, so you don't have to mount the sensors on a wall. You have to buy the rotating attachment, that you can probably find in the Similar Items section.

Would recommend for HTC Vive Lighthouses

Like many others, these were purchased (about six months ago) for the HTC Vive lighthouses. A 1/4" mini ball head bracket worked perfectly with this to get the required angle. They are easy to set up, take down, and store. Despite being extremely lightweight, they are remarkably stable and well suited for this purpose. As much as having a tripod just sitting around one's living room can be, they are decently attractive and are solid black (except for some screws and the very top.

No complaints with this product.

Bought these for my HTC Vive base stations and they work great (as long as you also buy the Mini Ball heads separately Mini Ball Head . VONOTO 1/4" Screw Tripod Mini Ball Head for DSLR Camera Camcorder Light Bracket Swivel). I have them extended about 8ft high and have no problems at all unless someone walks right next to one and then there is a slight wobble of course but only lasts a few seconds.
