It gives you double the number of flashes than you'd get from you speedlite. So, you don't have to replace your speedlite battery more often.
The best part of using this for me is, my speedlite was recycling faster than without this. probably twice faster.
The body is well made plastic and also has a light indicator that'll let you know when it's ready.
I bought this for my Yongnuo speedlites, and it works. Yes!! (Remember, it's actually for Canon speedlites)
It has 1/4-20 thread, using which using can mount it under your camera body.
The lock mechanism could have been better/stronger. Otherwise it's a great product.
This pack provides high voltage to the flash tube, you still need to use batteries in the flash to power its electronics. The plug is a very snug fit and requires a moderate force to insert and remove from the flash. The pins in the socket of my flash are long and feel like they bottom out in the plug. This gives the appearance that the plug is not fully seated in the socket as the plug sticks out a bit from the flash. I would not force the plug further into the socket as this could damage the flash if its pins are forced back. Despite the plugs appearance when attached to the flash, I have not had the plug accidently fall out.
The cordura case is a very snug fit and is difficult to use when attached to your belt. I use a 3 in carabineer clip tin the belt loop to attach the pack to my light stands. THe carabineer slips over one of the adjustment clamp knobs on the stand or bracket.
Neewer has never failed me...from lights to strobes to accessories, every Neewer product I've ever bought exceeded my expectations, at a fraction of the cost of "name brand" stuff.
You can't go wrong with this unit!
Now, the Bolt are double the price, so if this is your first one, and you will not be using it professionally, yeah, definetly it is worth it. I, myself, I will be using it on stands, shooting a stationary soft box, and I will not be carrying it around on me - absolutely no problem in two years with the Bolt, banging around my waist. Then again, as with everything else, you buy OEM for the peace of mind: The Canons, you know they work pretty much all the time, while the Bolt, you are taking a little chance, and the Neewer a bigger chance. The bottom line, would I recommend the Neewer? Yes. For what I need them, yes. As matter of fact, I will probably be buying a couple more for my second shooter.
It is possible to spend so little and still wind up wasting your money?
This thing is really junk!
After use, when removing the batteries the contact points all pop off because they just sit on the plastic (cheap plastic at that).
One piece has a discontinuity in the cable and will cut out powering the flash if I jiggle it the wrong way.
This would make a great gift to give to someone you hate.

Works with Canon 600EX-RT though.
I already own the Canon CP-E4 for my canon flash.
