1x SHOCK MOUNT FOR MICROPHONE STAND

- It reduces the sound vibrations coming from the mic stand or arm you have it attached to.
- The strings that support the mic constantly come detached from the frame. The mic then starts leaning and you have to reattach all the strings.
- The mic sags a lot. Not sure if the mic I have is too heave for the mount or not.
I am not too satisfied with this product. I have used this product for 9 months. I don't really like the product. It is more inconvenient then it is convenient. It is constantly giving me problems.

For other mics, I would prefer more padding on the inside of the ring that holds the microphone. The metal parts, although rounded, can scratch the finish of a regular microphone capsule it not treated gingerly.
I need to make mention of this. I had an incident with this. About a week after I got and installed the shock mount, it started slipping, so I tightened the wing nut down, and off popped the outer area of the hole that the retaining wing nut thing goes through. I got in touch with Amazon and they provided return labels immediately. I ordered a second one, and this one is nowhere near as loose in the joint as the first one. I have no clue how heavy other mics are, but assuming they are as heavy as my Behringer C1 or heavier, then the firs tone wasn't up to snuff. I think there was a casting flaw allowing flex in the first one. This second one seems MUCH tighter than the first, and is giving me no reason to doubt its ability to do the job for the forseeable future. I WILL keep you posted if it fails though...
Also, the range of articulation one has isn't as generous as I had hoped. I had hoped I could turn and adjust this across the X, Y, and Z axis but the range is more Y (up and down) and no X (side-to-side). The boom handles any side-to-side but there is a limit to the precision. Z (forward-back) is good thanks to the wing-nut. So, overall, pleased.

It looks and feels nice, and does the job.
The flaps for installation and removal of mic can easily be taken on and off if you want more clean look.
HOWEVER.. the tension of the rubber bands seem so tight that one would think it is same as directly connected?, not isolating the microphone,- but then I haven't owned any other shock mounts, and this I could remedy somehow.
The Audio Technica AT2020 XLR is a bit too big for this mount, I couldn't get it in the normal way, which i suspected before hand, so I had to spread it by grabbing it with both my hands.
Which scratched the microphone on the back, had I been a bit more patient, then that could had been avoided.
There is a dense foam inner sleeve which cushions the body of the mic, the fit is quite snug but just fits my mics, so no worries about it scratching the mic body. I haven't taken any measurements but as long as your mic isn't unusually wide bodied this shock mount should fit, albeit snugly, and I would happily recommend it, unless you believe you have to pay 10-20 times more to do the same thing. It also came with a brass insert for smaller thread stand attachment.
Also it does NOT fit microphones even close to 50mm in diameter. The Audio Technica AT2020 isn't even 50mm and I had to use a wire to tie up the clamp arms in order to fi it in. I have no doubts that microphones around 40mm in diameter will fit well but you still have the problem with the clamp arms bridging the gap between the inner and outer rings.
Finally, there is a picture of a product box however it arrived in a plastic bag with the brand name only on the barcode sticker.
I absolutely do not recommend this to anyone.
It holds a Samson CO1U well but it is an extremely tight fit but I blame the microphone for that. When you loosen the grip of the mount there is a very noticeable click which sounds like the plastic breaking slightly but no visible damage is recognisable. Also one of the bolt/screw-like things is partly rusty which is a slight concern but it isn't an eyesore since the part is very small.
Either way the whole product isn't bad and the interior of the holder is extremely soft foam so I wouldn't worry about the microphone being scratched at all.
Unfortunately, the clip arms foul the outer ring, forming a path for vibration from the outer to the inner and totally negating the whole point of having a shock mount. It has also scratched the paint off the ring already where they make contact.
Like one other purchaser suggested, I may remove those arms, but it would mean you couldn't change the mike at any time in the future.
Pointless and badly designed product.
I fitted a Samson CO1U - USB Studio Condenser Microphone into it and as i said, although VERY snug it does hold it well.
It fits perfectly reminds of the standard Rode NT2 shock mount no assembly needed and screwing to my Mic Stand was easy the inside of the grip is padded which protects the Microphone from Scratches, it also works well with my SE Reflexion Recording Filter
once set up it was back to recording, Mic and Shock Mount both working perfectly. Forgot how nice the NT2 sounds.
