great price point for a good performance does need external power.

This is a good quality inexpensive microphone for its price. The stand and pop filters and sock are a good bargain. The stand is good overall, and it stays put easily. The shock mount holds the mic with out slipping and the handling noise it pretty minimal. Its a good overall mic, its not too bright, and seems to be clean when you power it. The Included XLR to Headphone jack cable is no good, not that it doesn't work, but you'll want a phantom power XLR jack for this. You can do this by either by supplying 48v phantom power with an inline phantom power adapter, or by using a USB interface which supplies it like in my case with the UM2. In my testing I found that it was just too quiet with say a USB sound card that supplied it with just 5 volts, it improved it but it didn't get anywhere near the UM2's clean input with a true phantom power supply. For me the UM2 is really clean and quiet with this and complements it nicely. The build quality is good, the condenser capsule housing the condenser is plastic, but the condenser itself is larger than you little cheep mic and it preforms pretty well. The metal body is solid and its not to heavy, its in the middle weight wise. The finish is good though, and the grill is pretty sturdy but I'd say it wouldn't be drop proof like some of the expensive ones. It would generally hold up very well though. Inside the PCB is good overall with a little hand soldering to the wire connectors they are wire to pad, so not though hole, and there is little flux and residue with clean component placement. Inside the grill there is some padding for it as well. Combined with the sock or the pop filter it seems to do a good job. Overall the build quality is excellent for the price, and it sounds nice. The price alone is good with out the Mic, I figured if I didn't like it I could upgrade it. Its done well for me with just some quick voice over work and for conferencing and gaming. Its not in Sure or AKG territory, but for the price you can't go wrong.

Frequency response is fair; the low end tails off a bit below around 80Hz, there's a noticeable peak at 10-14KHz, and the "realistic" top end is closer to 19KHz than 20KHz, but it's all well within acceptable range.
Sensitivity is also pretty good as long as you give it 48V; it's much less tolerant of lower voltage phantom power so you'll need to run it through a DI box or similar, and using the supplied XLR-to-3.5mm jack is pretty much a waste of time - you'll need to crank up the gain far too high and it'll be swamped by noise. Give it 48V, though, and it's an excellent performer; I had to turn my pre-amp *way* down!
Haven't taken it apart to check the build quality of the capsule or electronics, but overall it seems well made. It's quite light so I would guess the body is aluminium or more likely some sort of light alloy, so while it doesn't feel cheap or insubstantial it may not stand up to rough treatment so if you're taking it on the road it'll need protecting.
The scissor arm isn't the sturdiest thing in the world, though, so the lightweight nature of the microphone is a plus. As long as you're gentle with it it works fine but I can imagine it's easily damaged if you're not careful. It would have been nice if there were some cable clips on it, but you can't have everything.
The spoffle is functional but insubstantial, and the pop shield can be a bit hard to position without it drooping, but they're nice to have.
Overall I'm impressed with the package, particularly for the price, and whether you're looking to set up a small home studio, record a podcast, or do some streaming then providing you have the hardware to connect with a proper XLR cable with phantom power this feels like it's worth more than it costs.

Je mets 5 étoiles car je suis satisfait de ce kit complet radio/enregistrement car il correspond en tout point à mes attentes. Je parle bien sûr du niveau qualité prix qui est excellent quand on voit le prix avec frais de port d’une seule perche/pied de micro. La livraison a été très rapide (deux jours) et l’emballage était correct. Bon je m’en doutais vu des commentaires des autres utilisateurs qui disaient qui fallait une alimentation car même sur ma console de studio il me faut en amont une Alimentation Fantôme Noir avec Adaptateur 48V. Attend mon alimentation et après tout devrait être bon. Très contant du Support de Microphone à Bras de Ciseaux Avec Pince qui est d’une qualité très acceptable. Niveau look l’ensemble fait très pro j’en recommande un autre pour ma micro radio locale. Je recommande Neewer.
