Heavy tool that works for loosening retaining rings, tips are large had to use the pointed ends.
Heads up that I received this item through the Amazon Vine program. There is some assembly required before you can use this item. It comes with a set of thumb screws (shown in picture) but also some hex screws and the allen keys for them incase you want to set this to a particular size and not change it as often.I had a brand new Plossl eyepiece that I could never bring to focus and i decided to use this to disassemble it and see if one of the lenses was installed backwards. One thing i noticed is that the available tools are all fairly large, and for my plossl, i would need to use the smallest tip which is a point derived from a conical taper. I did have a moment where the taper would prevent this from working because the points would be too far inside the edge of the casing and would contact the lens itself. Turned out in this case i could disassemble from the other end too so this didnt stop work, but its something to look out for.I also found the thumb screws were helpful to make quick adjustments to the dimension of the tool, but that they didnt hold particularly tightly and on occasion loosened while i was trying to use it.Overall, its a useful tool and it feels right to use this to work on expensive optics rather than risk a slip and a scratch. Its fine for me on occasional work, and im happy with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you know what you are doing, you'll be happy with this spanner wrench
Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2023
I am not a camera repairman, but more than once I have encountered situations where I needed to perform maintenance on my cameras and lenses.

Someone more experienced might have a more critical review but as a neophyte tinkerer, this spanner sets seems excellent. All the components are made from stainless steel, and the pieces are nicely finished with no rough edges.

There are three sets of tips, which should accommodate most lens disassembly projects.

At first glance, this kit seems to be made up of an intimidating collection of parts, but it is actually easy to assemble and put to use. Most of the parts can be assembled with hand-tightened thumb screws. There are also a couple of Allen wrenches in the kit for tightening the set screws for the tips. The set has everything you need to assemble and use the spanner.

The tip support rails slide smoothly on the cross rods, and the fit is precise so that the tips are square to the rods. I had no trouble adjusting the wrench to fit my lenses.

The manufacturer claims the wrench can be adjusted to fit spanner rings from 10mm to 100mm. When working with very small optics, however, the points might be too large to fit the notches of the fastening rings properly. For most lenses, particularly most 35mm lenses, this spanner wrench can be adjusted to fit precisely.

My only complaint is this set doesn't feature any way to store the various small parts. It would be all too easy to misplace the extra tips and screws. It would have been nice to have a fitted case so you could see all the pieces at a glance. But even a small drawstring bag would be better than the cellophane shipping bags that come with the set.

Camera repair isn't for the faint at heart. A careless repair attempt can quickly lead to a ruined piece of equipment. But for those times when you need to fix or clean the internal parts of your optics, this spanner set is worth having on hand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hochwertig, kommt mit verschiedenen Spitzen und funktioniert einwandfrei
Reviewed in Germany on January 3, 2023

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully-made and very solid tool.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 21, 2022
Compared to my set of three Indian iron and brass lens ring spanners, this Neewer one is in a different league. Not only does it replace all three (with a bit of extra work exchanging tips), it works better as well.
The tool arrives squeezed into a minimal box, and takes some extracting. There are a lot of individual pieces, and I would have preferred a proper case for the assembled tool, with spaces for the bits. I can't imagine it would add much to the cost. That aside, it is all good. The impeccably-machined parts are stainless-steel, and fit together precisely. I suppose it is this that eliminates the flexing and looseness seen in the similar Indian ones. That rigidity is crucial when working on delicate camera parts and close to vulnerable lenses. Any slipping could be disastrous. The two straight cylindrical legs are linked by straight rods that are clamped at the top and side with knurled thumb screws. hand-tightening is sufficient, but two of the thumb screws can be substituted with grub screws, so that one shaft is effectively fixed, with adjustment done on the other shaft. The only reason not to do this that I can think of is if the shafts are wanted always centrally on the rods.
Three set of tips are provided: a flat-bladed pair, a cut-away flat blade pair (half-width), and a pair of pointed tapered tips. All have push-on silicone protectors. The shafts of the tips are inserted into the bored legs, and are retained by small knurled screws. These have allen (hex) socket heads. Finger-tight is just sufficient, but use of the provided key is better. The screws are a loose fit in the short holes in the legs, and I think a finer thread would be an improvement. The flat tips have flats on their shafts to orient them correctly.
In use, the spanner inspires confidence, and is rock-solid. The photos show the tool adjusted for lens rings from 20mm to 72mm in diameter, but it can go both wider and narrower. There are limits, and some of the large-headed screws used on cameras will have slots and holes too close together. A smaller spanner would be better for these, in any event.
I like this spanner a lot, and in spite of a few minor quibbles, I think it warrants five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars ottimo prodotto essenziale per un corretto smontaggio di lenti specie le vintage
Reviewed in Italy on December 6, 2022

- 6 viti a stretta manuale
- 4 viti a testa esagonale
- 2 grani a testa sagonale
