By all appearances, new parents Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne) are living the American Dream – complete with an adorable baby girl and a beautiful new starter home in the suburbs. Still, the early-thirtysomethings want to believe that they have a modicum of coolness left within them. So when they discover that their new next-door neighbors are none other than dozens of Delta Psi Beta fraternity brothers led by charismatic president Teddy Sanders (Zac Efron), they try to play along and make the best of an awkward situation. But when the frat's parties grow increasingly more epic, both sides of the property line begin to fend for their turf. The neighbors' relentless sabotage escalates into outrageous one-upmanship, beginning an epic Greek war for the ages. Also stars Dave Franco and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

If you are a fan of Seth Rogens films like knocked up, Superbad, this is the end, etc. then don't expect Much this time. This is because it isn't written by him which means different brand of humor, I know I've stated that twice but that is because it is probably the main factor of why I didn't enjoy this film that much.
Another big thing I didn't like was how a lot of the jokes weren't well executed, a lot of the hilarious jokes from the trailer I expected would be expanded in the film to a bigger joke, but the jokes in the movie were not any different then when they were in the trailer (not all of them but a lot of them). A couple of parts gave me a decent laugh but unfortunately those were rare and didn't make up for it.
The only group I would think would enjoy this are the likes of immature teens. I'm sure this film might interest some people to where they enjoy it but this one didn't deliver like it should of. Overall skip it and you wouldn't miss much if anything but watch it if you want and then give your own opinion on this website.
Neighbors was not what I expected. I know the movie is titled "Neighbors", but it really is nothing more than that - to me, it lacked any substance or major story line. Yes, there's some minor themes you can take away from the movie, but it's a comedy and isn't meant to be dissected that seriously.
Half way through the movie, I started to feel disappointed with what I had watched so far and was ready to brush it off as a miss, but eventually things did begin to turn around. As the movie progressed more towards the frat house, lead by Zac efron and Dave Franco, it really started to pick up, humor wise. While I hadn't laughed out loud once in the beginning, there were several scenes towards then end that I couldn't stop laughing about. I think most of these scenes I'm referring to would be more relate-able for young/middle aged males, but that's what you would expect from the cast.
Without writing on and on, the second half of the movie definitely made up for the beginning - but overall I would still struggle to recommend this movie over most comedies. Like I said, depends on the person and I guess what movies you have available to watch. At the end of the day, even if you don't like the movie, it's worth the experience to find out. Probably better to rent on amazon vs. paying ~15-20 dollars to buy this. Good luck, have fun.
