Types Of Measurements
Quickly measure any small or large objects with the sharp stainless steel jaw.
Measure inside diameter of objects quickly with top jaws.
Versatile measurement options include depth function for small objects that are hard to reach with regular rulers.
The overlooked step function of the caliper allows you to utilize the back step of the caliper to measure as well.

When you require exact measuring, you reach for a caliper. But an accurate measurement is meaningless if you can't read it accurately. This caliper takes an essential tool into the 21st century with an extra-large LCD digital readout for exact internal and outside measurements accurate to .001-Inch. Instantly converts from SAE or Metric, the display can be zeroed at any point on the slide. Machine-grooved thumb-roll mechanism and position lock for sure adjustment. Hardened stainless steel shaft with depth-measurement probe, precision ground jaws. On-off switch with auto-off, two long-life batteries included (one spare).

The Neiko seems to get decent reviews, probably mainly because it is the cheapest one and soo many more people have bought it, but compared to all of the other calipers in the roundup it actually scored low across the entire data set. The build quality and accuracy is not all that great compared to the iGaging EZCAL. There is a gap between the internal measuring jaws which renders all internal measurements inaccurate.
Spend $10 more and get the iGaging EZCal which was the best digital caliper in the $30 and under group.
iGaging IP54 Electronic Digital Caliper 0-6" Display Inch/Metric/Fractions Stainless Steel Body
~ There is a gap between the internal measuring jaws which makes all internal measurements inaccurate. Watch my Youtube video showing this gap visually.
~ While the average accuracy across the entire data set put it within it's rated accuracy of .0015", it is NOT accurate when measuring at the end of the jaws, where it is off by as much as .003" (way out of spec)
~ There is a lot of "Slop" between the ruling body and measuring body of the caliper which is a big reason it does not meet spec.
~ Finish and build quality are lacking when compared side be side to the iGaging EZCal
~ It is cheap?
~ Some have had success hacking a data output cable onto these

I did some research, and these were popular for having consistent readings and good construction. You want the measuring side of the device to be even and flush so you get the same measurement when using the outer and inner measuring surfaces. From my testing at home, that is the case with these calipers, with variation of no more than .02 mm. That's certainly good enough for our needs.
Look, you know if you need insane accuracy, and if you do, you have no business looking at sub-$100 calipers. But for the hobbyist, general contractor, or budding engineers, these will serve you well.
So why only four stars? The buttons on the device are the cheap rubber buttons that can get wedged and stuck if you push them at an angle. Not a big deal, and easy to fix, but still annoying. Other than that, no complaints.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment. Cheers!
DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME and you won't be buying things 2x. Trying to be a CHEAP BA**ARD I get what I deserve.
No way I can rezero this to show this. It would be a -.200 only took about 5-10 slides back n forth and it zeros on .2
California residents Click here for Proposition 65 warning the warning should NOT have been something I would have to DIG for After I have it in my, unprotected, hands! Di(ethylhexyl) phthalate, lead and lead products.
WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER HANDLING!
No wonder there is NOT a picture of the box, front or, especially the back. I felt the need to wash my hands having touched the package! It has light Dusting of some sort of Powder on it! I used gloves to put it back in the box for return, wiped down every surface that I had had the package.
I researched and shopped online for at least 3 months.
All my searches kept coming back to the Neiko 01407A.
I could afford it and couldn't wait to get it
I was extremely surprised and pleased with the craftsmanship and care that went into the manufacturing process for this tool.
I would put this caliper up against any of the high dollar ones.
Still making saw dust,

-case holds caliper securely, no rattling. Has holder for battery when removed for long term storage.
-turns on when moved
-internal circuit board contacts are gold plated, buttons won't stop working after a year like some other calipers.
cleaning them out is fairly easy(see photos):
-remove back sticker
-unscrew 5 screws to remove reading unit(don't lose the two rubber wipers)
-unscrew and remove end stop
-slide caliper apart
-clean out cavity with soap/water/brush
-add a little bit of oil
This gets them moving smoothly. It would be nice if they did this at the factory. It would be a lot easier for them to do it than the customer.
(Nov 2018):Replaced the first battery(7 moths after purchase). Tested power consumption, which is around 10uA regardless of on/off state. Stock up on LR44s if you buy this. for long term storage remove the battery.
A month later, I bought a set of the iGaging digital calipers, the ones that use the CR2032 battery. They have way lower current draw when off, and are still much cheaper than comparable Mitotoyos. I checked them against a machinist's pair of Mitotoyos on a 1x2x3 block, and they were within 0.0015" 95% of the time. Yes, 1.5 thou.
You know how these cheaper calipers "forget" zero if you close/open them very quickly? Yeah, the iGaging ones do not do that. Spend twice the money over these Neiko's, and get a tool you like using. You don't have to spend Mitutoyo money to get a nice pair of digital calipers.
No, I'm not paid by iGaging. I'm sure there are others out there filling the same niche, but thta's the pair I got.
That being said, it's nice to put into places that are hard to measure (engines) and slide to measure.
It seems pretty accurate, I never need more than a few fractions of a mm so I am not that fussy (I'd use manual ones if I was!) but I remember now just how convenient digital calipers are :)
La relación precio calidad es insuperable, no viene con aditamentos extras (solo el vernier y su estuche), recomiendo comprar eventualmente aditamentos extras, como una base para la balloneta o aceite para realizar mantenimientos.
