How excited can you get about a car charger, right? Quite a bit, it turns out. I'm so accustomed to car chargers being the flimsiest pieces of plastic that only make solid contact half the time, and frequently lose contact until they're twisted and jiggled just right. This unassuming little charger changes all that. The build is solid. The contact with the 12V socket is completely reliable thanks to very strong internal contact springs. It actually delivers the rated power, as shown in the attached pic using a Satechi USB-C Power Meter (which I also highly recommend). It runs cool, even at maximum power. And it's pretty attractive as well. Most of my devices are USB-C, but having that extra USB-A port is icing on the cake.

For me, this is an outstanding car charger for my Pixel and OnePlus. It charges extremely fast. Based on my rough estimation this is about 1% increase in battery every 50 seconds or so.

The fit and finish of the charger are excellent. Considerably higher than what I was expecting. Not because I have low expectations, but because the price was significantly less then competitor products. I was also impressed by the packaging. They didn't skimp there either.

I've never purchased anything from this company/brand. I've almost always gone with Anker. While Anker has been great, the price differential was too hard to ignore when it came to this charger. I took a chance and I'm very impressed. I'll definitely consider Nekteck products in the future.

Fast customer support! No glaring Power Indicator

Wow! Nekteck support responded to my email within 20 minutes! In the evening! That's unheard of and something to remark about.

In my camper, I use the USB-C output of the Nekteck to charge my Jackery Power Bar AC Outlet Portable Laptop Charger, Jackery PowerBar 77Wh/20800mAh 85W (100W Max.) Travel Laptop Power Bank & External Battery Pack for MacBook, HP, Thinkpad, Notebook and other Laptops that I also bought on Amazon. The Nekteck charger works great. I purchased it for the 45W charging through the USB-C port. That works very well, full power, as does the Quick Charge port.

My concern is with the blue power indicator. The power indicator is very hard to see, except for a very narrow angle, less than 5 degrees. I thought the light source should be closer to the hole in the case so you could see from any angle that the power is ON.

You can see from the Nekteck support response below that some people complain about power lights that are too bright. I can safely say for them that no one will complain about the light on this charger.

Capable of "Rapidly Charging" but only if nothing is plugged into USB-A port

#USB-IF CERTIFIED. Ever since my family's Pixel and Pixel XL updated to the newest OS, PD Power Delivery charging (where the words "Rapidly Charging" would show up on the phone screen while charging) was broken when the charger is not USB-IF Certified. This car charger is USB-IF Certified via the Type C port so that it definitely charges either the Pixel or Pixel XL when plugged in.

CON:
#Will not charge the Pixel or Pixel XL at ALL via the Type C port if something is plugged into the USB-A port. I tried charging the Pixel XL via the Type C port and the Pixel via the USB-A port as I am accustomed to when both family members are in the car. Unfortunately, when something is plugged into both ports, this charger becomes VERY inconsistent. Sometimes only the device plugged into the Type C port will charge (and not at the "rapidly charging" rate), other times only the device plugged into the USB-A port will charge slowly.
-Note that I bought TWO of these chargers to use in separate vehicles and they both have the same problem.

BOTTOM LINE: Good charger that will "rapidly charge" your Pixel devices if you only plan on using the Type C port alone. If you plan to charge something else at the same time via the USB-A port, then this charger may not work for you.

I tested it with my xps 13 9370 and it charges perfectly no error messages. It also charges my pixel 2 phone. I travel a lot and really need a dc car charger for my laptop this fits the bill. Make sure you understand the USB C specs they are confusing I looked for USB C PD cords that could handle 100 watts. I don't do much with data so I was looking for PD cords. I have started labeling my cords because some of my phone cords are too low wattage for the laptop. Confusing yes hopefully this all gets sorted out over time. Dell charges $100 for their version.

Charger is well built, very sturdy, and charges my Pixel 3 as fast as I could ever ask for. The included cable is also high quality. I've been using this charger and cable for 11 months now and have not had the slightest problem with either of them. The standard USB port works perfectly for charging other items at the same time, and as far as I can tell using the second port has no affect on the speed at which my Pixel 3 charges.

The charger does have a blue LED light to indicate that it has power. I like the way they designed this, as the opening for the LED is VERY small, only letting a little bit of light out. Other chargers I've used in the past either have no indicator at all, or are so ridiculously bright that they end up being very distracting when driving at night. Not this one, I've got nothing but good things to say about it!

I have gone through so many in car chargers for my phone and have repeatedly got annoyed when my phone battery still dies, and then i was on some forums and directed to this! This is the first charger i have come across where i can use my Pixel 2 as a sat-nav and still charge my phone!

The socket is of good quality and looks nice, the cable looks of good quality but overtime has now failed. Not to worry though as you can just use your own cable instead! This charge is well worth the money, especially if you are always using your phone as a sat-nav.
