Is it putty or slime? It's both.

Looking at the reviews it seems that there's confusion on whether this is slime or putty. It feels slightly wet but it holds whatever shape you mold it into so the reviews saying it's a sticky mess that slides through your fingers must have gotten a bad batch or something. It is not the same as the beige silly putty we played with in the 80's. I think it will dry out after use for sure but I bought 12 for $11 so.... not sure what other reviewers were expecting for less than a dollar. It's fun to play with, shiny, slick, mold-able, and it serves its tactile sensory purpose. A+ I love it! These will make awesome stocking stuffers.

P.S. Another reviewer said theirs grew mold but I have to wonder if they left it out or let their kid play with it when their hands were dirty? Keep it in the container between uses and only use it when your hands are clean and I think it won't get moldy. If I'm proven wrong I'll post again.

Note- this is not slime, it’s silly putty! Very different from each other as putty breaks apart when stretched. Slime stretches very well without breaking but putty will break when stretched beyond 2-3 inches. It’s a super neat color! This item was a hit in the favor bags I handed out to the kids after my daughters birthday party. Very well priced too.

So, this isn't silly-putty in texture, this is slime. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but, I was expecting putty. Silly-putty is firm in texture, dry, moldable and rubbery. Slime is soft, goopy, damp, and doesn't hold a shape.
It's pretty, and resembles Scarab Thinking Putty...But only in colour. I'll still take it in to the office, but it's really not what I was expecting from something described as "putty." Call it "slime" and let customers know accurately what to expect from the texture.

The contents were exactly as depicted in the picture. they were perfect size for a party favor gift bag. I didn't open the ball to see if the contents were slimy but imagine it will be considering we seem to be having a heatwave (i'm sure the heat will keep it nicely melted). i'll update later w/feedback re: slime after the party

the slime was a big hit as a party favor with the kids. it was ABSOLUTELY slimy. it stayed that way throughout the day. I did notice some stiffening of the slime after being exposed to air, but when you placed it back inside of the clear ball it regenerated some moisture and was slimy again. I would definitely buy this again

I couldn't stand the smell!

So when I first ordered these, I was looking for some type of stretchy putty/clay, and this is NOT what that is, so just a warning to anyone who is looking for more forming putty, this isn't it. These are more of a rubbery squishy material.

Before I talk about the big con of this product, I will say that these are really relaxing to play with and really beautiful to look at. The colors are really pretty and glittery, it's mesmerizing!

Although they were pretty and relazing, I just couldn't get past the smell. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It's not necessarily a bad smell, but it REEKS of strong soap and when you press into it you can kind of see the soap moisture come out of it a little bit. It made me nervous because I have animals, and the soap was all over my hands so I was afraid to touch them because I'm not sure if it's toxic or not. ALSO, the smell was really hard to get off of my hands even after washing like two or three times with handsoap.

When I ordered this, I think it said 'putty'. Definitely not a putty substance- they are slime. It's really pretty and metallic...but the texture is slippery, gooey and slimey... not what I expected. A few of the reviews say that it dries out quick- I'm sure it does if you leave it out of the container, but I opened it 7 days ago and it is still the same consistency after going back into the original container.
