The one gripe with the bag is that it is a couple inches too wide and a couple inches too short (shallow). While most waterproof bags tend to be deep to allow multiple rolls of the top, this one is surprisingly shallow, and given its width it makes rolling the top harder - both for how little room you have to roll and for how wide the opening is. Overall, considering its price against the competition, it's worth it.
This bag works as advertised and exceeded my expectations. I got caught in HEAVY downpours and thunderstorms twice on the trip and not one single drop of water infiltrated the bag. Everything inside remained bone dry..I was truly impressed.
The other thing I like was the mounting system it uses with 4 nylon straps that easily secure to a luggage rack. The buckles that these straps loop through are metal and well designed. The tension on the clasps is more that adequate so there is no fear of slippage if mounted correctly. Note that this item probably works best on a rack as opposed to a backseat as the straps are not overly long, but again they are very strong. Depending on your bike, you might have no problem mounting to a back seat, but for my bike (Honda F6B) it worked flawlessly on my aftermarket luggage rack.
Finally, it should be noted that the bag (I bought the Medium) has AMPLE room...Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised at just how much I was able to fit in this thing. And once packed, it was a breeze to secure it as per the instructions. The material of the bad this tough and thick and never did I feel like anything was going to rip or tear. After putting this thing through 6K miles, I can honestly say it has rendered my other motorcycle luggage obsolete. This is all you will ever need for storage and peace of mind. Highly Recommended!!!
That said... this bag holds a ton of stuff. I used it for all of my clothes for a 7 day ride, plus my laptop. Barely had anything in my hard cases because this bag held so much. I used the provided straps to strap it down to my passenger seat. Easy to take on and off at the beginning/end of the day. You won't want to put anything in it that you will need to get at often since it's not quickly opened due to the dry bag design.
All in all, it gets the job done for a good price. Would be a perfect bag if they included a stronger carrying strap that didn't instantly break.
Went for a week long trip on my KLR650, total of 1200 miles upstate NY. First day, rained the whole 380 or so miles. I was soaked to the bone, after the first 200 miles in pouring rain and puddles galore i stopped and went to check on my clothes, I was suprised to fine everything was completly dry, unlike my tankbag and saddlebags, which had begun to leak and were damp inside. Changed shirts and thermal, had a hot coffee and continued on in a dryer better mood. Bag held up very well for the whole trip, very sturdy, never felt any extra wind resistance even though it was the large size packed full.
ry happy with it.
