These neon waterproof window markers are great as a sign marker. Writes on nearly anything...GLASS, PLASTIC, METAL, STONE, ACRYLIC! Stays on in the rain, but easily removes with most window cleaners! A neon marker with a chisel tip for fine to medium writing width gives you lots of control.

We find that if we slightly depress the tips the entire time while drawing long lines, the color applies more boldly.
These colors are easily scratched off after they dry so when I need to correct a small line without damaging everything around it, I use a small, flattened bamboo stick (like you would use for nail care) to gently scrape off the ink. Or you could also use your fingernail.
Facial tissue and window cleaner are effective at removing these colors. I lay the sign flat on the floor and spray directly with window cleaner and then with my finger, rub the window cleaner around a bit on the lines to be removed. You can see when the lines begin to smear and are ready to be wiped away. Paper towels work fine, but don't get the board quite as clean.
If you're having trouble with them shadowing on a whiteboard, you might try coloring over the shadow with a standard dry-erase marker then wiping right away. The chemical in those markers when fresh will take many things off of whiteboards...old dried on dry erase marks, even permanent marker! It's a good trick to know.
