The design is great because it allows you the wrap up the camera while leaving the strap out so that you can carry it around your neck or shoulder while being in the case. The loop that goes around the lens is actually two straps fastened by velcro so that eliminates the need to have wrangle a whole loop around a long lens.
Quick and easy storage. It works bests for quick trips where you just want to toss the camera into another bag and not have to bring all your camera gear. Probably won't work against protecting against dust or dirt that may be in that bag since the holes that let out the straps are pretty large so use this case for what it's made for.
If you have a similar camera kit like me, I highly recommend this case, especially for the price and its ease of use. If you have a larger camera that the Rebel series, I doubt it will fit.
It fits snug on the camera (not a bad thing) and I've used it with a 50mm (short) lens as well as an 18/55 (kit) lens. I think it would be a tight fit with a longer/larger lens.
I paired this case with a strap designed to hold the camera at my hip and now I can walk around with my camera just as easily as a cross-body purse. I feel very secure using this case and I know I'll use it to toss my camera in my purse or larger bag after I return from vacation.
I bought two. Both snugly fit my T2i cameras with the 18-55 kit lenses on, but only if I remove their lens hoods. With the Nifty Fifty or Fine Forty they fit great even with lens hoods.
The straps can be stretched just a bit, then attached under the camera lens via the Velcro fasteners. This allows the cover to totally envelope the camera and lens while allowing the camera's strap to be pressed into service for carrying the camera. Minimal precipitation protection perhaps, but far better than nothing.
Yes, these covers are worth the price being asked and promise to do the job I expect of them. In my order, when I bought two covers plus some lens holders from the same vendor, they all arrived in the same package but the vendor still charged me for all three individual shipping fees...sigh. It was still worth it.
This is the only case I have and use, and I like it! I've had it for 2+ years so far, and it still looks new (to be fair, I don't use my camera all the time, mostly every once in a while). I've only got the T2i, so I'm not sure how well it holds up in comparison with other camera models. It lets me just have my camera in my bag or around my neck without a worry. I definitely didn't want to buy a small bag, so this was a good alternative. Decent buy!
Oh! I also noticed the photos show both a dark grey/light grey case. The one I received was light grey, like shown in some of the customer images.
The product is well constructed and made from a nice thickness of neoprene. I think that it provides just enough padding and protection but it's not so bulky that it adds a lot to the camera. It still fits nicely in my camera bag and in my handbag. The Velcro that this closes with is quite sturdy and provides a secure closure.
I have a Canon 60D. I typically leave my 50mm lens on but I also have a 15-85mm, which fits perfectly. The part of the case that goes around the lens is perfect for the 15-85mm, maybe just a little more room if you had a longer lens that was not as wide. There is a lot of extra room when I carry the 50mm lens, but that's okay with me.
Of course it does smell like neoprene, but the smell is going away quickly.
