Patrick Heron was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1952, and has a B.S. and M.A. in Business Studies from Trinity College, Dublin. At the age of 24, he began his Christian walk following an epiphany he experienced while reading the Bible. In 1997, having recently become interested in Bible prophecy concerning the "end times," Patrick published his best-selling book Apocalypse Soon. He currently resides in Dublin with his family and is not associated with any particular church or denomination.

Got this book second hand, at discount price, and very very glad I did. What ticks me off is seeing this book categorized as "paranormal/occult" when it is just biblical interpretation. If you are a person who seeks knowledge from multiple sources, who is interested in all the aspects of multi-faith exploration, then this book is not for you. If you are a christian borderline fundamentalists, like a die-hard evangelical, then this book is for you. If you are looking for a book that provides you scientific facts supporting fantastic claims, this book is not for you. If you are OK quoting bible verses to support your claims and believe that is fact, then you will love this book.
The first part of the book is an attempt to tie strange phenomena, like the pyramids, Giza geopositioning and other items such as those with bible verses. The second part is just choosing a rant topic "money!" or "Lucifer" or "Eden" and quote bible verses.
But I will contend that books like these are needed so truth-seekers and free-thinkers come to realize that there are a ton of morons out there who make religious books object of worship instead a tool of spiritual growth and human betterment.

I have been a historian for fifty years. The Nephilim and the Pyraminds of the Apocalypse, takes the cake. It began with the same-o-same-o Biblical story. Then it took off into left field. Yahweh sent the watchers (angels) down to keep an eye on the people of earth. The watchers (angels) fell in lust with the earth women. The watchers (angels) had thier way with the women of earth and created the Nephilim (giants) The nephilim corrupted the people of earth. So Yahweh drowns the people with a great flood. The Nephilim can't be killed in the flood because they are sons of angels. So the Nephilim begin building all of the great masive stone buildings of antiquity. The Pyramids of Giza, Ziggurats, Tiwanaku, Pumpa Punka, and Kalasasya.The last half of the book is a retelling of The Apoclyse. Written by John a man who lives in a cave and hears voices. I gave this book one star because,some one took the time to write it. However; you may like it. This is one mans opinion. If you don't like it, you can't say I didn't warn you...D

I've been torn about what rating to give this book. I purchased this book fully on the basis of my research into the nephilim and the grigori. The book is split into two parts. The first part I thoroughly enjoyed. The author had many ideas and theories that are fascinating, and that gave a nice jump-start to my own imagination. He brought out points from the Bible that most people fully ignore in Sunday School class, and got me to question and think about things I have never thought about before. I loved the first half of the book.

The second part of the book made me a little sick because it was getting into the apocalyptic studies that I have never liked. While I loved the detail and intelligence of the first half of the book, I disliked the second part of the book and even disagreed with much of what the author presented as undeniable fact, often things that have been scientifically disproven. I have a natural annoyance of people who have an attitude that they are right and everyone else is wrong. Another thing bugged me was the fact that the author felt the word "nephilim" was interchangeable with "angel" and I disagree with that.

Overall, this is a book you will want to pick up if you are doing any type of research into the fallen angels or guardian angels of the Old Testament or the mysterious nephilim. It is well worth the expense and time to read, but also take some parts of the book with a grain of salt.

I purchased this book because of my interest in the Nephilim. Heron correctly points out that these were the offspring of the fallen angels who took human form and mated with human women. The offspring were called "Nephilim" pl. from the singular "Nephal" (Heb; "fallen one"). As there is no English word to better translate, King James calls them "giants". These offspring, carrying devine genes, were superhuman in stature and strength. Their size was legendary and renowned: 12 to 13 feet in height, with some as tall as 20 feet. Despite their large human appearance, they lacked human compassion or a human soul. It is said they had no ability to love. When they died, their spirit transformed to a demon within the spiritual realm.

Goliath was a nephilim. Goliath had two other brothers from Gad who were later killed by the Isrealites. They had six fingers or six toes on each extremity. Their appetite was voracious (human farmers could not sustain them), so they turned to consuming human flesh; and their pitiless cannabalism finally caused mankind to call upon the name of God. The deluge was brought by God because of the evil that had been wrought by Samyaza (leader of the 300 fallen angels), now known as Satan.

God has stated that salvation is not provided to the soul of the Nephilim. Their souls, not being in the plan of God, are simply not reached by the Holy Spirit. The demon wanders the material realm forever, awaiting the final judgment and commitment to the lake of fire. They are evil and beyond reach. These creatures were known as Rephaim, Philistine, and other tribal names.

The title of the book: "Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocolypse" is a little misleading. The two are not apparently connected. The cover shows the Great Pyramid in Giza, Eqypt. As the bible does not mention the pyramids, I thought some extraordinary mystery would be revealed by the book. On page 191 the pyramid of the Apocolypse is finally mentioned. Mr. Heron describes why he believes the New Jerusalem, handed down from Heaven by God, will be in the shape of a pyramid, not a cube as commonly thought. He reports that in his view, the Giza pyramids (as awesome as we humans see them) are Satan's poor attempt to imitate God's New Jerusalem.

Needless to say, I was disappointed by that delayed connection. Even so, I think this book deserves attention.

I have ceased being wooed by the "Pre-tribulation or Pre-millenial" question. This bit of eschatology seeks to discern exactly when Christian suffering on earth might end, and when a rapture occurs. There is no life that does not suffer, including God's son Jesus. Mother Teresa noted that "God does not ask us to succeed; God only asks us to be faithful." For those who are saints, sustaining as a remnant in the Tribulation is a great call to faith. We should not presuppose that surviving Christians will not suffer. We should instead suppose that our suffering in Jesus' name will bestow us eternal blessings.

It is with some regret that I have given this book only three stars because I know that Patrick Heron was a sincere believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and he put a lot of research into this book. He begins with an overview of the Nephilim and this may be new to some readers, though other writers have used Heron's material without the courtesy of crediting him. He then moves on to a typically dispensational eschatology which occupies about half the book and will no doubt please those readers who belong to what I can only call the Dallas School Of Dispensational Fiction. He says nothing new here. But Heron's unique contribution to the Nephilim debate comes in the closing chapters of this book where he examines their relationship with the Pyramids, and specifically the Great Pyramid at Gizeh, and here he has some genuinely original thoughts which I think he probably regarded as the culmination of his work on this subject. Whether or not one agrees with his thesis, his input on this topic is original, thoughtful, and definitely worth reading.

Patrick Heron is himself enthusiastic with those facts he presents connecting the nephilim with pyramids, astronomy, astrology, Greek & Roman classical mythology, fallen angels, The Book of Enoch & The Watchers. He continually links all this with quotations from The Bible, although the thrust and aim of his connecting narrative stutters and often is a little unclear because he does so. I don't believe that this book was helped by inserting chapters wholesale from a previous work, Apocalypse 2000. The Book of Revelation, along with other biblical narrative, is trumpeted and Christian values are upheld to the extent that the book becomes almost a ministering tool for Christianity, not a bad thing at all, but surely detracting a little from what ought to have been a more focussed read, full of more clearly relevant facts told in as interesting a way as possible. The end result was a little sermon-like, and it left me believing that so much more could have been stated and achieved. At the same time I freely acknowledge the author's integrity and splendid intent to enlighten readers. I'm pleased that someone has tackled this critical subject by relating these ancient titans' evil to many if not all of mankind's woes - right on into this world of ours that we now call modern. I'd recommend that everyone reads this book as a possible starting point in their understanding of the nephilim but I'd also point them in the direction of The Book of Enoch itself - an ancient work crying out to be read and understood by everyone. Before I read Patrick Heron's book I already believed that the nephilim were and remain real; so although for me his work remains largely true and slightly disturbing, it also comes across as a somewhat superficial read. I'm not sure that he's presented a quite strong enough case to convert a more unknowing readership.

With the Biblical observation that fallen angels interfered with the Creation, this could go some way to explain the fossil record, which has many fantastic animal and 'human' remains and would be especially interesting if there are any giant human-like remains still to be found.
