We gave this tool of destruction to my niece for her birthday.

I know, I know, you're thinking, "Why on earth would anyone give this to a little girl?" Well, she is no ordinary little girl. No, she is a pretty, tiny force of nature hell-bent on the destruction of all things in my Sister's household.

I'm cool with this.

And while I love my sibling, the thought of providing a wonderful (and safe) tool of terror to her daughter just delighted me to no end. Watching her stalk my other nieces, nephews and their animals as she unleashes her fury delighted me to no end.

Sure, I know that once I leave my sister will put it up on top of the fridge to help stop of wave of destruction, but thankfully I also taught her to climb.

I was hesitant to buy these for my kids. At least with the guns, you are far away. These have been great. Its amazing how little the kids complain when they hit each other during battles. The are soft enough to not cause real pain and they look very cool.

They are also very durable. My 14 year old son took them to a group battle they had at the park. I was sure that some of them wouldn't survive. All 3 weapons came back with no injury. These are great toys!

stumbled upon this gem in a local store for only 8 bucks and got it on a whim; it's extremely light weight and handles exceptionally well, the overall shortness making balancing issues non-existent. The foam blade is thick enough not to bend or be flimsy, but soft enough to not hurt in the slightest. A previous review mentioned throwing it, but I've found it's too light-weight to really throw with any accuracy or distance beyond perhaps 10 feet (and at that range, you may as well step forward and use it in melee anyway). I haven't had a chance to fully test it out, but I can easily see the advantage in using the downward 'hook' to snag enemy weapons or shields and pull them out of the way. I'm debating getting a second, or getting a larger 'primary' weapon and wielding this off-hand for parrying and hooking. I debated the stonewall shield and dagger combo, but reviews seem to indicate it's not nearly as good as they could have done.

Very cool! Purchased two for both of my kids. The love to wrestle and rough house and they loved to add these to the mix. They are very durable, yet do not hurt the kids. They are still in perfect condition after a month of hitting, throwing, pulling them, and stepping on them. I definitely recommend this product.

My 9 y/o son is working on his 3rd now. 1st lost it's claw after about 2 yrs of abuse, 2nd vanished. I'll buy a 4th if this one ends up needing to be replaced. Handle could be smaller in dia. A bit big, even for my adult male medium hands. This has to be one of the safest, most damage resistant toys on the market, especially under 10 bucks! Used to buy at Walmart, now have to get from internet.

I wish that these were around when I was a kid! I am a 29 year-old dude with a 3 year-old daughter. Yes, I am a bit of nerd. These products are perfect for me and my daughter to have 'sword fights' in the living room. They are extremely sturdy, and have even stood-up to me and my wife going a round or two in the backyard. I have had absolutely no problem with the durability of these products (axe and swords included), and have purchased this axe, the Zombie (green and black) sword, and the Blue and silver sword. All are extremely fun to use when my daughter and I are fighting dragons, zombies, or each other.

Note that they still need to be treated as a dangerous weapon though, which is why I have instituted some very strict rules with my daughter.

1.) No sword fights with anyone who does NOT have a sword
2.) Go to your corner (like boxing) then count down from three to start a round
3.) No headshots, and no hitting any unarmed people, or animals (makes the dogs happy)

With some common sense, you can turn these toys into something that helps your kids (or you) have fun playing make-believe. Keep in mind though, that these can hurt. They sting pretty badly if you hit hard. Additionally, you could do some serious damage to an eye, or other part of the face. I wish these were around when I was little.

I was bulking up my son's Nerf N-Force arsenal with the Nerf N-Force Marauder Long Sword when I saw this little weapon. The Klaw Hatchet is essentially a foam hand-axe with a good hook in the blade that looked perfect for catching a sword. I figured it would be a good "surprise weapon" when using the Nerf N-Force Battlemaster Mace Axe.

While the Klaw is pretty neat-looking, it's also very light and very flimsy. Unlike the other N-Force weapons there's not much hard plastic inside this hatchet. The hook part of the blade in particular is quite flimsy, and while it has held up (so far) against the lighter Nerf N-Force Shadow Fury (Blue) blade, I wouldn't trust it against the Marauder. What it is quite good for though, is as a throwing weapon. It flies pretty well and is so light it doesn't hurt at all when you get hit with it.

It's not the coolest or most durable of N-Force weapons, but the Klaw Hatchet is a fun enough addition that it's worth grabbing one or two to use as secondary weapons, especially if they're discounted.
