So why two stars? Because this is the third one I've had to buy in 6 months -- the rubber bands in the blaster snap after a while. Maybe I'll count just how many shots this one goes through before I have to get another .. but at $20+ I would hope this lasted a little longer than 2-4 months.
This is my 2nd Blaster, the first snapped a rubber band but only after several years of a fair amount of use.
We do have another shooter, different design, and it's long and awkward to carry to the park. The Nerf Blaster has a shorter barrel and it's easier to carry around. It may be difficult for smaller children to "arm" the Blaster, it does take a bit of strength to pull the "arming mechanism" into place.
I love this, the dog loves it, and she gets a great workout.

For a ball blaster, I was expecting it to clear half an average sized field and wind some poor unsuspecting passer-by but nope it is all noise not much distance.
Not all bad, the kids had about 5 minutes of fun before they decided potatoes and fruit might be more fun. It is......outside! Not in the blinking house but hey how.
Save your self some moolah and grab the one on a stick thing that you can throw around for a quid
Second time buying it as last one broke after multiple trips to the beach. It held up well considering the amount of use it gets.
It is pitiful how far it fires a tennis ball, and taking into account the bulk of the unit I was expecting it to at least get a ball to travel 100ft (including rolling).
It barely went 50 ft....in fact it travelled so short a distance that after the 3rd firing the dog stopped chasing and wandered off.
You can lessen the power (god alone knows why) by not pulling all the way back and then I would say you could easily use it indoors.....yes it really is that week.
In fact I accidentally fired it indoors on full power and unless you hit a vase, you could almost fire it on full power indoors.
My advice is buy the cheapest tennis racket you can find and whack a tennis ball with that and don't waste you money on this garbage
