Editorial Reviews

See the trailer, read reviews and more info at nervethemovie.net. Josh Biggs (Tyler Langdon, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone) is a young man riddled with severe anxiety. When he agrees to be the subject of an experiment pertaining to the treatment of social anxiety disorder, he hopes it will be the end of his troubles... and a way to get closer to its pretty conductor, Aurora Pilar ("Best Actress" winner, Laura Alexandra Ramos). Little does he know, he's about to endure the battle of his life. In a performance that skillfully juggles drama and comedy, Langdon leads a colorful cast in this poignant character study. Nerve is an "instant indie classic" that takes real risks.

I read one of the bottom reviews and although I don't have social anxiety, I think he or she's judging the film unfairly. This film doesn't pretend to be a documentary on social anxiety. However, I do think that most of the facts presented the film are true about the condition. My friend has anxiety issues and totally gets why the character makes some of the decisions he does. I also understand the editing. When he starts the treatment for SAD and then ends up 'seemingly' helped later on, I understood that months had past. And we learn quite quickly that he still has his problems. In fact, the whole movie seems to be about what NOT to do as a psychologist, which is why she's only a STUDENT. It's the point of the film. Her psychology messes him up quite bad. You have to understand what's going on between the lines. I definitely reccomend the film. It's fascinating and there's nothing like it in the indie world. Just wish they had a much bigger budget, which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars

I thought this movie was interesting. The ending kind of leaves you hanging tho.
I enjoyed the movie for the most part. I was expecting a scarey movie. It was refreshing to watch this whole other side. I would recommend it to friends.

Didn't enjoy it. The acting was mediocre. The plot wasn't very well thought out. I just never felt much of a connection with any of the characters. Even though I have social anxiety I didn't understand most of the main characters actions, they seemed more psychotic than anything. Wouldn't recommend

I thought this was a boxed set as shown in a cube, but it is simply a single DVD of a movie not worth watching. I guess I thought this was a series, first season, or similar, the way it was shown, and the premise sounded interesting, but it's less than 90 minutes, has no direction, tries to copy other successful film gimmicks (like starting at the end, then going back to the beginning) and ends up just confusing. The characters are not developed enough to have any empathy for them, or invest in them enough to care how their lives turn out, and I was so disappointed with this purchase, I would have returned it if it had been worth the expense. Instead am donating it to the library, if they will even take it.

There's just too many things here for me that strike me as unrealistic. That combined with characters that seem disingenuous and inconsistent made this a tough watch. I watched 2/3 of the movie before watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind again to see how this sort of thing should really be done.
