[Original Inissia Review]
I own the Citiz for home use and bought the Inissia with coworkers to keep at work. Compared to the Citiz the Inissia is pretty comparable in quality and construction and is around $70 cheaper than the Citiz currently.
The Inissia is compact and well made. It is fairly easy to use and makes great espresso. The water heats up just as fast as the Citiz which so far has been about 25 seconds so you can get your coffee fix in the morning very fast.
I appreciate that the water reservoir detaches like the Citiz and unlike the Citiz, the lid on the water reservoir is a flip lid and attached to the container. Also, while the expended pod catch container isn't as flashly looking as the one on the Citiz, it is just as functional and considering it is all black, it doesnt show the coffee staining like the clear and light plastics of the Citiz.
The only issue I've really had with the Inissia is the dripping. I suggest leaving the drip tray down at all times unless you need to fit a larger cup during brewing. The Inissia can drip for a while after you're done brewing and when I had it setup at my desk, it randomly started dripping quite a bit of water hours after I had made a drink. It is an annoyance but not a big one considering the drip tray leads into a decently sized water catch reservoir of its own housed under the expended pod catch. It is very easy to remove and dispose of the excess water and expended pods.
For the price(~$99) I am satisfied with my purchase. Despite the dripping it makes a great cup of espresso and it makes it fast and easy. A 5 star espresso maker at this price point wouldn't have the dripping issue for me. , However, it cost about $.75 per shot compared to $2.00+ that you'll spend at a coffee shop. The machine will be used pretty frequently by many different people so I will update this review when it has had some wear and tear. For now, I can easily recommend this for the price and the good coffee it produces.
[UPDATE to original Inissia Review]
I wanted to update my review after having owned and regularly used the Inissia every day for over 6 months now. The machine has held up very well with continued use by many people daily and it consistently puts out my necessary morning cup of espresso.
[Aeroccino Plus Review]
The frother is weighty and feels durable and high quality. I really like the use of magnets to attach the mixer and I appreciate that two different mixers were included. One whisk is included for a lot of froth and a mixer for light froth to no froth.
The operation is very simple. You add milk to the fill line, put the lid on top, and press the button. After that it silently warms and froths the milk and in not a lot of time either. I don’t have experience with other frothers but this seems to do a good job while being fast and silent. It also is pretty easy to clean. I worry about some appliances because if they are difficult to clean, they won’t see as much use. I think due in part to the magnetic mixer part and the water proof construction, the frother is almost as easy to clean as a standard cup.
It works surprisingly well and considering you would pay around $60 for it by itself, this package seems to be a pretty good deal if you really want the milk frother. I have only used skim milk so far and I wasn’t really sure that it would be able to froth it well but it warmed and frothed the skim milk very well. Also I want to point out that while I haven’t tried using almond milk personally, I have seen videos online of people successfully using the two main varieties of almond milk and frothing them very well.
It is designed well, it is fairly easy to clean, and it works well. If you like cappuccino’s, latte’s, and macchiato’s, then the Nespresso Inissia combined with the Aeroccino Plus Frother is a great deal at around $115 and is easy to recommend.
The problems started when it wouldnt turn off. Then it started not producing the amount requested. It would produced much less and then went the other way and produced much too much. When I pressed for the large cup it just continued brewing until the cup overflowed. Then the tank started leaking. This machine wasn't abused or moved around. It went from the shipping box to the kitchen counter where it stayed.
I purchased these expensive pods and added some green tea pods. Now I have to babysit the machine so I can stop it before it floods the counter top. I will continue to babysit it until the pods are exhausted and then that's it.
For the price point I guess 5 months of continuous intended use is good but I am very disappointed in this.
Function info: You can make both espresso and an americano in this baby. It has two sizes and if I want coffee I will hit the biggest size and then before I release the pod I will hit the small size one more time to make me a respectable cuppa joe. This does not taste watered down at all. I take this to work because the coffee at work now taste like puke after being spoiled by nespresso. The espresso size is great for an after dinner treat, especially the flavored light roasts. The downside is the pods average about 70 cent each, so resist the urge to down 6 cups of espresso at once. We decided we would rather limit ourselves to a few cups of super good coffee, rather than a lot of bad coffee. If you go to the actual nespresso website you will get a sign up offer and get 200 of the assorted pods for about 150 dollars. Also the machine will come with around 15 of them to sample. Nespresso even sends you a recycling bag that is pre-paid UPS shipping so you can be eco-friendly. If I could marry an appliance (is it legal?) I would spend the rest of my life with this espresso machine.

It frequently jams and squashes the capsules. I'm not surprised that it has been discontinued!! I'd like to return it, but don't have the packaging. Please help!!
Not only my Nespresso is super loud it keeps chewing the pods (I use only Original from Nespresso); it seems that capsules do not 'sink' snugly and need to be adjusted, otherwise the level wouldn't even close; this is just not the way it should be; I went to Nespresso boutique for advise and they really had no answer, though the rep commented that some units are like this, loud and the chewing thing does happen;
I am returning this unit and will order the black one from DeLonghi .
Unfortunately the pours are completely inconsistent. There is a single or double shot button that can be programmed to pour your desired amount, but this seems to change constantly from pod to pod. It is also very loud like a tire compressor. If you're trying to sneak out in the morning without waking anyone it's going to be hard.
Overall what I expected at this price.
This red devil gets me through my workday flying on the 3 espressos a day. Best part - they all taste the same every time. I have been waiting for a while to get one of these and when there was a sale there was no way I was missing it.
Extremely happy with the machine... less so with the price of the original Nespresso capsules (After a while 3 a day begins to put a bit of a dent in the coffee budget). Luckily, there are other compatible ones that are close in taste for half the price. Intensity 10 and up of course. Yet to run my first descaling.
After recieving it, I determined only expresso's could be made. I have one of the new Nespresso machines that I love, and was hoping for a lower cost coffee maker with the same quality, but I was wrong.
You can only make espresso (and then add water to make it an Americano)- But I didnt want that hassle every morning.
I had to return it.
We originally ordered through Nespresso club. However, our order was suspended because Nespresso wanted proof of who we were by wanting copies of non-expired government ID and proof of where we lived such as hydro or phone bill. Seriously? We asked ourselves this opens up to fraud and identity theft.
So, going on Amazon which we buy all the time from we found this product cheaper and exact same model/frother combo for cheaper and no third degree enquiry. It came from ECS coffee company.
So, the next question we have is ordering the cups. Since Nespresso wants too much personal documentation, where can you order online?
We wanted the titanium model but Amazon advertised the same model for $450!!!!!! Ok why the price difference of 400%?
Don't get us wrong it makes great but when purchasing find out about your coffee supply how and where you will continue to buy your coffee pods. This was a chore to buy something simple as a coffee machine.
We give it a four for the actual product.
