I have throughly tested this Product.
Order this exact one: Nestle Nido makes a confusing array of products with similar names and labels!
Con:Taste not IDENTICAL to whole milk!
Pro:Dissolves easily, smells good.
-Tried this as creamer in tea with sugar-a person used to whole milk in his tea thought it tasted fine.
-in cooking- tried it in my favorite pancake recipe-no perceived difference.
-tried using it as substitute for milk in a couple of sauces: no complaints from anyone, I thought it tasted slighty low-fat. Certainly in a cheese or other highly flavored sauce should be fine.
-substituted for half the non-fat dried milk in our instant hot cholate mix recipe. Everyone raved about the flavor! I noticed our mix wasn't being used up at the same phenomenal clip as people professed themselves more satisfied.
- Perfect for single people who want small amounts of milk, mostly for creamer in hot beverages. If you're going to use it slowly, maybe put in a glass jar in the fridge.
- Disaster supplies;earthquake,hurricane,etc.
- save on gasoline! Won't have to make trips for the sole purpose of someone having milk in their coffee or cereal!
- Camping, etc. where weight is an issue;bring this powder and reconstitute as needed.
Buy it-you will love it! If two cans seems a big quantity for you, give/resell the other one to a friend, neighbor, etc.

-Easier to use in cooking than liquid milk- in any recipe where it calls for scalding and then cooling the milk, you can skip that step by just mixing up the amount of milk used in your recipe from the milk powder and lukewarm water. Faster and saves on pots needed too.Read more ›
The milk itself is delicious. Much, much better than instant nonfat milks. Tastes very similar to 'real' milk and makes excellent hot chocolate!
In 2011, Saco Mix 'n Drink, Instant Non-Fat Dry Milk, (makes 40 quarts), 8-Pound Box was thirty-four dollars. Now it's sixty-four. That's better than six-forty a gallon.
Seeking alternatives, I found this NIDO whole milk powder in June and paid thirteen dollars for enough powder to prepare 13 quarts, which is about right. Now in October the price has jumped 130% to thirty bucks (vs. thirteen)! That's nine dollars a gallon.
What the hey is going ON here?
Looks like it's back to schlepping half-gallons of milk home from the store every week.
One of the most obvious uses, is to add a little bit of the whole milk powder to water along with the non fat milk powder to create milk that tastes richer. Some recipes call for 1 or 2% milk (or you want to change them to that), this whole milk powder makes it easier to come up with your own custom blend.
I'll likely be buying this off of Amazon for the foreseable future unless they stop carrying it.

Nido is the best tasting dry whole milk, and i have tried several. This one is made in Mexico, and is definitely not as good as the Nido made in Netherlands / Holland. Read morePublished 16 months ago by Gvince
This milk is very handy to have around. I like it infinitely better than the non-fat dry milk powder. It mixes easily. It tastes a little like evaporated milk. Read morePublished 16 months ago by KSittler
I love it. Very tasty, better than liquid milk, and it dissolves easily in water. I like to stir it into coffee in the morning-- it's almost like hot cocoa. Read morePublished 18 months ago by Thomas G. Hanlin

it is good when you travel to countries where I cannot trust the local milk products. The taste is kind of different from fresh milk, but it is drinkable.Published on May 21, 2014 by James T. Balogh
