I don't normally write reviews, but this time I'm compelled to do so due to people giving out erroneous info like the one who wrote about the 2.7 hours a day limit (5000mins/30days). Just about every telephone company out there (Your good old company, VoIP provider, whatever) limits you to 5000 minutes a month for RESIDENTIAL use (which is what this device is made for), yes read your POTS terms of service agreement, and you'll find it's been there for the last 20 years, at least. These minutes are aggregate minutes per month! I have been more than 2.7 hours on the phone a day in a couple of occasions without any problems. Of course, I don't do this regularly, but the person indicating this problem might be abusing the product. Overall, I don't have anything bad to say about the product. I've had it for a year, and I have only had to reset it twice (which is something that you will eventually do with any Voip product). Well, there are some minor inconveniences that are worth mentioning. For example, you must dial your area code at all times, it doesn't matter if it's a local number the one you're calling. Also, from time to time, you need to redial the number 'cause sometimes it doesn't go through the first time. Lastly, voice mail it's only available through their web site or email, so you have to get a computer to get your voicemail. This is a convenience when you're on the road, but not when you wanna check your vm when you get home without having to login into a PC. Of course, you can always setup a good old answer machine to do that or have your email forwarded to your smartphone. I can easily overlook these inconveniences when all I paid were $30 bucks a year for my renewal service.

I am very satisfied with the Nettalk Duo. Not having to keep my computer on and the fact that this thing works just like my old Bell Phone use to is great. I have had it only three weeks but love it so far. One suggestion to anyone using it: you may have one way talk with a Belkin router. I first used a Belkin and when making a call, they could hear me but I could not hear them. I switched to a Linksys router and now it works fine. I have the whole house system hooked to it with four phones.

The Nettalk Duo Voip by Dell is a great alternative to a land-line telephone. You must have high speed DSL or cable internet in order to use this product. I did not own a land-line and did not use nearly all my cell phone minutes. I found this to be an efficient way to save money.

I get a clear signal while talking on the phone. In order to make an outgoing call, you will need to dial the 3-digit area code before the main phone number. I can handle dialing 3-digits if it means I am going to save hundreds of dollars a year. There is no long distance charge for calling anywhere in the United States or Canada.

The Nettalk Duo can plug into your computer, modem or wireless router. This way you can still make and receive calls even when your computer is turned off, unlike many of its competitors. After hooking the Duo up, I had to reset my telephone in order for it to register. It has worked great ever since.

I highly recommend this product as a cost-saving alternative phone source.

With this invention, I can talk to anyone in USA free. I am not longer overcharged by the landline service providers and other surcharges. Sound quality is good too.

From the time I received the unit I have NOT been dissappointed! It was easy to install and a breeze! Works like a charm. The voice quality is as clear as the landline and the other VoIP services I had previously. Nettalk Duo VOIP Telephone ServiceI've had NO problems with it and am so excited that it only costs me $29 PER YEAR instead of what I was paying which was over $30/month! A savings of $330 a year. Of course the device cost about $30+ but with the initial cost of about $69 (which included the first year of the $29) The ONLY drawback is I have to dial the area code but I have chosen to deal with that gladly!

If you are planning to buy this Nettalk device to connect it to your router or modem/router, MAKE SURE that it is COMPATIBLE with the Nettalk device. Nettalk has a list of modems and routers that are compatible and incompatible with the device. Google the following: Nettalk list of routers/modems that work well. Also, pay attention at the model of the router or modem/router brand because some brands may be compatible with Nettalk, BUT only if they are of a certain model.

I am using Nettalk with Trendnet modem/router model TEW-635BRM. It is both a modem and a router, and it works well with Nettalk. If you have this same modem/router and have problems setting it up with Nettalk, look for my product review under Trendnet modem/router model TEW-635BRM here on Amazon.

PROS

1) It's very economical compared to regular home phone services, and it's among the cheapest internet phone services around.
2) You can easily save more than $200 per year and have more features than regular home phone services.
3) You have caller ID and unlimited calls throughout the United States and Canada.
4) For an additional price, you can have unlimited calls to other countries such as Mexico.

CONS

1) Not all routers or modem/routers will work with this device. If you don't want to have any problems setting up this device, just get a confirmed compatible router or modem/router (read above for more on this).
2) In my case, I sometimes had bad reception while using the phone. Calls sounded as if they were breaking. However, after a few weeks of using Nettalk, my phone doesn't break as it used to. It rarely breaks now. A cousin of mine, who also has Nettalk, had this same problem that eventually reduced drastically after a few weeks of usage.
