From the Inside Flap

In March 1996, a Nielsen survey found that 56 million people over the age of 16 in the U.S. and Canada have access to the Internet.  If the current rate of growth continues, by the year 2000, over 50% of the US population will have access to the Internet.  With as many as 50,000 new Web sites beginning each day, most Internet users would find the prospect of an Internet "yellow pages" both appealing and useful.  Now, from the definitive leader in Internet publishing, Michael Wolff, comes NetGuide.

Whether your interest is UFO's, L.D.S., the G.O.P., or S-E-X, it's on the Net. Literally millions of possibilities, ranging from cartoons to Shakespeare to medical advice to exotic recipes; it's all there, in bewildering abundance.
This handy guide sorts it out into 11 broad categories, then subgroups to help you find your way around, giving exact addresses (URL's) to type in and away you go! A brief introduction is provided if you need a little necessary jargon and basic procedures, but it's easier than you think to Surf the Net.

So whether you're into practical jokes or Wall Street, (they say there is a difference), grab this book and your computer and go for it! Your life will never be the same.

This book is a must have for students of all ages. It provides the URLs of some great sites for information on virtually any research topic. This book should be considered a major resource for any high school student with questions about their homework; it contains comprehensive, fact-filled pages of information. It can be used as a summary, a resource, a starting point to seek further information. Using a search engine to locate sites with content equivalent to those listed in this book would take days. I would recommend this book to the highest degree. It should be noted, however, that if you are looking for specific information (statistics, demographics, etc.) you might be better off with a good search engine.
