It did not occur to me that a sheaf of wheat could be so complicated! I was surprised by the height AND by the CENTER CYLINDER of wheat straw pieces, even though it is completely and accurately described. Mine arrived promptly and in beautiful condition. It was slightly shorter than I had anticipated -- my fault -- the 14"-16" height is clearly stated in the description. The diameter is NOT mentioned though, and the tied bundle is probably only about 2" wide. I am using this in a pottery vase about 8 3/4" tall with a 3" diameter. The sheaf just really isn't big enough to look good in a vase this big. I stuffed the vase so the wheat would be taller, but it still was not wide enough and wobbled around. Even upon twisting and trying to spread the wheat a bit, it still didn't look right.
So, I made the decision to untie the sheaf and supplement with some other dried pieces I had on hand. This is when I discovered that the entire inner core is just straw and basically worthless once it is untied. (To be fair, I didn't even notice it when the sheaf was tied.) So, be aware, if this is not the perfect size for your vase, you may be disappointed in the flexibility of trying to arrange with something else. Having said that, I AM using and like the actual wheat pieces that were included. I just have to get more to supplement the size to make my arrangement look right.

However, they are shorter than I expected, and as others have noted, the center of this bunching is nothing but shortened wheat sticks which is sort of disappointing. You need to be VERY CAREFUL when 'twisting' the bunch to get it to fan out otherwise you will break some of the wheat. Thankfully I was able to avoid breakage, but wanted to note this in my review. Quality is good, and you can see from my photo the height of the product next to a 42" tobacco basket for perspective. Overall, it will do the job it was intended for.

Pretty, But VERY Fragile
