Neurio was bought by Generac, I wouldn’t buy again.

Verified Purchase

The product works in the sense that it measures AC energy consumption fairly reliably. However, Neurio was bought by Generac for what I would consider a corporate “check the box” move towards “being green.” As far as I can tell the system, software, and support are stagnant.

App is Unstable, rendering the Power Monitor Unreliable

After two years of putting up with Neurio’s unstable iOS app, that will never run more than a day without crashing, my advice is to avoid this company. Checkout the low ratings for the Neurio app on Apple's iOS app store. This company has had plenty of time to address this issue. They simply don’t care that the app is unstable.

Installation was easy, app reports data nicely, appliance monitoring is all beta and works poorly at best. Generac recently purchased this company, so I am anxious to see where it goes

The biggest problem I have seen, is for no apparent reason, at random times, the system just stops reporting data, this problem will last anywhere between three and 24 hours. With this problem I can never get an accurate monthly, billing cycle, or yearly report. On the days when it works, it presents the information cleanly, but you never know when it is going to stop reporting. I’ve been on over 12 phone calls with the company, as well as with Generac now, no one seems able to find the problem. At this point, I would not recommend this product to anyone

I’ve been using this monitor for 3 years. Occasionally the live view goes down but rarely the history. I’m able to track my overall consumption vs solar generation, which is my main concern. I don’t care about individual appliance usage but you can infer the larger uses by observing the changes in the live view.

I had my solar panels removed for a few days and it functioned again when they were replaced without a hitch. I’m sure it will stop working eventually and I hope I’ll be able to replace it when that happens.

Reduce your energy consumption!

Easy to install and set up connection. The interface on the computer for monitoring is easy to set up and understand, this will make you more aware of what electricity you are burning because you see it in real time. I wish in hindsight I had solar package that goes with it. Our solar panels have a separate monitoring system but it would be nice to see the solar production within the Neurio monitoring. The app does not show the negative energy usage when solar production is higher that energy consumption but the computer interface does. That is the only thing I see that needs to be updated. We have been logged out and had to reset the connection before but it is easy to do. You just have to take the time to do it.

Very simple do it yourself installation. Great kit and instructions. Easy connection and configuration. Software runs flawlessly on Windows 10, Android and iOS even it could be a bit more sophisticated. Would be nice if “hardware detection” option was actually free.
