Quality hardware with subpar support

I really wanted to like this product. The hardware feels like it is good quality. The app design is decent. But that's where it ends. The product website seems as though it hasn't been updated in two years. It is nearly impossible to find information on anything and support response is not very good. I inquired about the appliance monitoring after searching the website. I got a response stating that I needed to PayPal them $70 for the appliance recognition feature to be enabled. They make this product seem more affordable than the competitors with a hidden software fee for full functionality. I wrote back expressing my displeasure with their methods in a respectable way. I asked for an invoice for the add-on so that I could decide if I wanted to pay the extra or reverse course. I never got a response. So, I have since returned the product and have dodged a bullet investing this much into something that won't work as I want it too. The app is very basic and the information gets boring quick. Overall Neurio has the feel of a good product that started off right, but maybe now is no longer being actively developed. It's one thing to have the data and another to be able to act on it. The ifttt integration doesn't allow for responses to individual appliances. It only correlates to changes around the baselines.

Easy install for me (electrical engineer), clip on two current transformers to the mains, loosen two breaker screws and insert the voltage sense wires mount the "sensor" box. Done.

If you have no experience inside an electrical panel, I suggest you have an electrician install.

Install the software on my iPhone and Mac, attach to the WiFi. No problems.

This was a very easy install and was monitoring all power being used quickly. Since I have natural gas heat, stove, water heater the big electrical use will come this summer with the AC running. But this unit is sensitive enough to see an LED bulb turning on/off. Looking forward to seeing if this will help me with my electric bill. Can you recover the purchase price? For me yes, wifey not so much.

I bought this mainly to see how much power my house was using when on generator power, but I find I check it multiple times a day when I am just on regular utility supplied electrical power. It has helped me make my home more energy efficient when it comes to electricity. I didn't opt for the higher cost model that claims to recognize appliances, the basic model gives me all the data I need.

I have already made a number of changes and upgrades like replacing four 50w halogen bulbs in a bathroom light fixture with 6w LED replacements and even night light bulbs at either 4w or 7w replaced with LED bulbs show a reduction in the always on electrical load which equals a lower electrical bill at the end of the month.

I did notice one thing that I haven't seen others mention specifically. Once Neurio attaches to your WiFi network, and you see what I.P. address it has on your network, (by accessing your router's administrative portal and selecting view attached devices) you can just put that I.P. address into your browser and see the "raw data" that each sensor is supplying. You have to be home to do this because you have to be inside your home network, and it isn't something everyone will want to see, but if you want to see the data in the greatest detail as it is being generated, that is how you do it.

My unit did not work out of the box, and I understand that an occasional faulty product in inevitable, but my issue is with Neurio customer support. They have no phone contact number, and will only discuss product issues via email, so there is always at least a 24 delay on each correspondence. In my case, I paid a licensed electrician to install the unit, as recommended by Neurio. I watched and verified that it was installed correctly. The unit would not connect to the internet. I email Neurio tech support several times but they could not help me fix the problem...said it was a "unique situation", and asked me to uninstall the unit, box up and send it back them, at my cost. Now, bear in mind that I have already paid a licensed electrician to install it. Now, they expect me to pay him to come back, un-install it, and then pay to ship it back to them. Once fixed, they expected me to pay him to install it again. They made no commitment on replacing the unit, and didn't offer to pay the shipping or offer an upgrade to help cover the electrician fees (which are now more than the original cost of the unit itself). All told, I figure that I have wasted over $400 on this fiasco, if I cut my losses now and don't re-install. Be very wary of this product.

Love the product. Only thing that has me worried is I don't see any new activity on the company's website and the product is sold out. No product news updates or anything. Social media is important to spreading the word about the product but its non existent. Also, it's $70 if you want to upgrade to the Intelligent Home Monitoring which lets you add appliances for tracking. I still don't know how to make that purchase as it can't be done from within the app. This should be easy if they want to make money

Base price does not include the appliance recognition feature. It is an additional $70. The youtube videos do not lead you yo believe its not included. The discription does not say its not included. Cannot zoom in on the usage graph like sence. The module is not internationally wired properly. I have to have one of my solar transducers reversed to make it read correct or it will show negative power generation. I did not have the time to uninstall this unit and return it to get a refund. 30 days from purchase. If gour going to spend the base price plus $70 for tge appliance detection you should just go with sense. I bought the neurio cause it was cheaper and thought the only real difference was the graph zoom. Nope. Contacted costomer service they said sorry u felt mislead.

Je suis même pas en mesure de savoir ce qui est inclus dans le calcule en watt dans l'appliances. J' ai trois sources pour le chauffage et il ne fait même pas la différence entre les sources. Had little trouble connecting Neurio (two) devices to two seperate panels but installers should note that the CT coils should connect into the two sockets closest to the power-in socket!... instructions not too clear on that but on- line video better describes the connections.
I found their app does not work on an IPad - only Iphone and that the appliance detection does not appear on the Iphone app. Still waiting of word back from Neurio about that one!...slow to respond.
Otherwise informaion available is very useful to keep an eye on usage and makes you more aware of loads over time.

The hardware was very easy to install. I was worried because the circuit box was unorthodox - it serves six houses and all the motors on a large farm. However it went well. I could not understand the instructions on how to connect it to my WiFi but I got a 75 year old farmer to explain it to me and it connected right off. It gives me just what I had hoped for.
