This is not a self-help book. It’s a wake-up call!
Can’t Hurt Me, David Goggins’ smash hit memoir, demonstrated how much untapped ability we all have but was merely an introduction to the power of the mind. In Never Finished, Goggins takes you inside his Mental Lab, where he developed the philosophy, psychology, and strategies that enabled him to learn that what he thought was his limit was only his beginning and that the quest for greatness is unending.
The stories and lessons in this raw, revealing, unflinching memoir offer the listener a blueprint they can use to climb from the bottom of the barrel into a whole new stratosphere that once seemed unattainable. Whether you feel off-course in life, are looking to maximize your potential or drain your soul to break through your so-called glass ceiling, this is the only book you will ever need.
An annotated edition of Never Finished, offering over three hours of bonus content featuring deeper insights and never-before-told stories shared by David. Not available in other formats.

That said, it's typical Higgins and if you love Goggins "stay hard" (I do) mentality this is the book for you.
I think it's best to have read "Cant Hurt Me" first bc he refers back to it several times but this isn't that book. He told Joe Rogan That Cant Hurt Me was the surface and Never Finished dives deep and he isn't wrong.
I am someone who has been alone for a long time and tho you are never truly alone (unless you are) when you are single and tend to do things alone, you learn to solve a lot of things by yourself and that you either do that or you lay down and accept defeat. The pandemic took a lot of wind out of this endurance athlete's sails and in Gogglish it made me weak. I questioned a lot of who I was and what I was capable of. I stopped doing things. I stopped striving for greatness. Bc I could.
But I found my fire again this year as the world started to open up (and I didn't need to wage the war of vax/no vax or mask/no mask) and began racing again, finding my joy of pushing beyond my perceived limits.
This book has helped me refocus and gave me some things to think about and keep in mind.
I will never be Goggins and I don't want to be but I can apply a lot of his lessons to what I do, and I love reading his words.
I will also say, many times in the book he worked to make it clear that he doesn't mean you should do what he does, he wants for you to find what makes you feel that same fire he feels. (Like. I am not jumping out of a plane or running 100 miles and I've never wanted to but there are many other things I've done that scare me. One of favorite takeaways is that once you do it, you build the confidence to do it again and again. It's something I use in my job daily when I build training programs and discuss the importance of early and often.)
That said, if you don't like Goggins or self help, this isn't the book for you. Goggins gets high on himself, you can tell in his writing style. He can come off self-inflated. It's simply how he is, but there are times where you sit back and roll your eyes. He isn't humble but wants to practice humility and perhaps he should either embrace that he doesn't sound humble or that he lacks humility it's ok either way. Bc he is great, his savages all put him on a pedestal, myself included. What I think I'm trying to say is his writing often inflates his greatness and it can be a bit much.
That said, it's a book I know I'd recommend. And also one I can return to and continue to take lessons from.
Stay Hard Mofos.
