Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!

Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.

In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.

The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!

OK< number 5 is completed and a review to write before getting on to number 6. While I am here I might as well buy the rest of the set that is currently available (up to 13 now, so at least a few more days of reading pleasure). I mean, who would I be kidding? I will be getting the rest of the series and reading them and then I can join the crew waiting on number 14.
This is a great story arc, with a kick ass heroine and a support crew that is just about as bad. It has a superb combination of hard Science Fiction, Space Opera, Military SF, and pure fantasy, not to mention a lot of humor. How can it go wrong? There are fewer and fewer editing/grammar issues as the author matures and his proof reading crew gets better so the very minor issues (to my mind) are disappearing fast. If this is the first book you have looked at, stop and go get the first in the series. This is definitely one that should be taken in numerical order or you will get confused and not truly understand the characters or the story.
My strongest recommendations for this story set - if you like the first one, you are going to be hooked for the rest - so just be warned. It is for mature teens and up. It is not young adult. Go for it!

I hate writing reviews as they are just my own opinion anyway, but I have become endeared to this series. Before I talk about the books, I’ll just say that I like the authors frank personal discourse at the end of the books. It makes you feel connected. I have another kindle author that I correspond with, Jason Halstead. He writes in several genres and is always open to discussion.

Now to the series. I saw a blurb on Facebook and decided to spend the 3.99. And now I’m on book six in about 3 days.
Several things piqued my interest.
1. A novel new spin on vamps and weres
2. Really fun characters
3. Aliens
4. Fast moving after the initial build up.

I heartily recommend you join Bethany Ann’s team.

caveat - there are minor editing issues, there are sometimes I have to go back and figure out who is speaking. I read sentences at a time so it is sometimes disconcerting, the story is strong enough to overlook that.

Ran across the Rise of Magic series and was intrigued, so decided to purchase all 16 books in the Kurtherian Gambit series. I then spent the next 4 days reading all 16 of them, then moving on to the Second Dark Ages and Trials and Tribulations series. This is a very entertaining and intriguing take on Vampires and Werewolves. I am eagerly awaiting book 17. And while there were warnings about the cussing in the book I found them to be hilarious. As far as military Scifi goes, I would easily rate this up there with some of the other major authors in the genre, such as John Ringo's Possleen War or Through the Looking Glass. Looking forward to enjoying the rest of this series, and the best part Michael Anderle seems to be a fairly prolific author so not a massive wait between books.

Yes, you slime sucking, bunghole battering, testicular licking, knob bobbing, goo gobbling grammar Nazis; I say this series is frigging fantastic! Are there problems? Certainly. If your mental faculties aren't acute enough to steer you around a few typos without whining about it! Those that have given this series less than three stars, I say you have keyboard envy and wish you could write a series half this entertaining with all the action, twists, and mirth that fill these pages in the time this author has churned these stories out! My only complaint is having to hear from the little woman about how much money I've spent in the last few days. Jokes on her! I'm only five books in and fully intent on buying all the other books. There's only room enough in my life for one queen right now... and she's a bitch!

I read Ell's three books and had to get back into Bethany Anne again. Make sure Ell keeps her series going. I plan to continue the TKG series until I am caught up. I read some of the reviews at the end of tkg05 and it's just like going to restaurant with my wife and listening to her complain about the food all night. Just eat it. Same thing about reading. Just read. If the editing and punctuation aren't bad enough to interfere with the understanding of the story get over it an read. And Michael, I try to write as many reviews as possible ,but they never as long as this one. I want to encourage the writer not add a chapter to the book. You and Ell keep it up. Ill keep buying the books. mrg

The Kurtherian Gambit books are a greatly enjoyable collection, ideally read in order, but each book is a self contained portion of the ongoing tale. You start with a dedicated, alien tech modified human woman, and give her a simple mission: protect the Earth. Sounds easy, right? Throw in competing factions that resist and disrupt her efforts to unify the Unknown World, add normal humans with their power seeking schemes, and it gets to be quite a ride! Its easy to read, and a captivating plot line that will draw you in, craving more, and the prolific author aims to please, turning subsequent episodes out in consistent monthly installments.

Like the other reviewers, I have really enjoyed reading all The Kutherian Gambit books. After finding and reading the first one, I brought and read the next three over the next two days. I have never been happier to find out that the author writes so quickly.

I have to say that you can see the author develop and grow with each book. He seems to get better and the characters and storyline become more detailed and engaging with each instalment of the series. (The editing has improved as well).
