This story is perfect. I couldn't put it down and was instantly in love with Remy, Mathias, and Remy's grandma (because she is a damn hoot, yes I said hoot). This story was filled with the past, the future, and a second chance at love even for two people who don't think that they are deserving of it. You could instantly connect with the characters as if they were people you have known all of your life and you feel the emotions that they are going through. They make you laugh, cry, cuss, scream, and laugh some more because that's what great books are made of.
Ms. Smeltzer is one of my one-click authors simply because she is great at making a story come alive and you are able to see her hard work show through each page she writes. Never Too Late is definitely one of those books that you will pick up and not put down. Then it will leave you with a huge book hangover. If you are looking for a new read, definitely read this book! It will grab at your heartstrings and make you cheer for a couple that so desperately deserve to be together!
5 Stars all the way!
Remy and Mathias dated in high school and were in love, until one day when Mathias stomped all over Remy's heart and changed their lives forever. Remy never imagined ending back up in Virginia and back in her home town, but she's there to take care of her grandma and never expected to see Mathias again.
Remy and Mathias's reunion is quite hilarious. Both of these characters are spit fires and when they are together you never know what will happen. I enjoyed seeing these two together, not because they seemed to tame the other one's moodiness, but because they truly are amazing together, and the bedroom scenes are HOT!
Seeing angry Mathias show a kinder side to him, definitely makes me like him a lot more than I did in Never Too Late. You can tell he truly cares about Remy, but never knows how to show it until one day he does and BAM things take a turn for these two. Remy has also been hiding a secret from Mathias from 7 years ago, and it is heart breaking. I wanted to throttle her for not telling him sooner but at the same time I do understand her reasoning behind why she kept quiet.
Unlike Emma and Maddox's story, this one is hot, steamy, has a lot of cursing, and is just raw and angsty. I couldn't put this one down and fell hard for Mathias. I loved seeing more of Emma and Maddox and what was going on in their lives as well as seeing Ezra and Hayes. My new favorite character though has to be Remy's grandmother. Oh my god... she is HILARIOUS!
Since this book is only told in Remy's POV we really don't know what is going on with Mathias except for what he tells Remy.Read more ›
So if you read Last to Know, you met Mathias already. Maddox's super broody, angry-at-the-world twin brother. Everything Maddox is, Mathias is not. Because I really just adored Maddox and his super playful personality, it made me really intrigued to read about Mathias and who he is, how he became so jaded, and where his story could go. Enter... Remy. His one time love, his high school girlfriend, his only. Remy is so much like Mathias, although I can't really say she's angry. She's been dealt a rough hand in one aspect of her life that's caused her to stay pretty closed off from the world. Add that to the fact that she's just a ball of spunk and has a no-care attitude, she and Mathias are pretty electric together.
Remy coming back to her hometown where she once loved Mathias was never in her plans, nor was it in his plans to ever walk into a bar and see her bartending in his hometown. When the two one-time loves meet once again, the sparks that fly are enough to burn down a home.
I must admit, I so adore a boy next door. I can't help it. So when a bad boy truly breaks me down and makes me love him, I know it's for a reason. Mathias is so broody and focused and angry but seeing him transform into this whole different person for Remy... ***sigh***
"You give me a new reason to love you every day." <<That right there is exactly how I fell for both Remy and Mathias. They were so incredibly written and funny. Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard throughout the entire book!
"People screamed the guys' names, thrusting out scraps of paper and boobs for them to sign." <<LOL! I mean, I'm reading along and a line like that comes out and smacks me in the face.Read more ›

A good story of love and regrets with a happy ending. I could have enjoyed it more if the "f..." word was used a lot less. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.Published 5 months ago by bookworm Donna

You've gotta love Mathias.. He is the quintessential bad arse.
He swears, he smokes, he's a manwhore, but he's only ever loved 1 woman. I loved their story.. Read more
It was an entertaining read, but I couldn't really connect with the characters. They were just too hot and cold all of the time.Published 10 months ago by Holli
