From Booklist

Lexi is doing her best to raise her daughter, Molly, by herself. With her husband in jail on drug-related charges and her father in a mental institution, she has no one to help with the finances. Although she works nights in a greasy spoon and days at a grocery store, she can't even afford rent for her rundown apartment or the utility bill. In fact, things are so bad that despite the freezing weather, she and Molly are sharing a pair of gloves. Just when it looks as though life couldn't get any worse, her husband's sadistic drug dealer shows up, demanding money owed him and implying that inaction on her part will result in malicious acts against her and Molly. Healy sets up such a brutally hopeless scenario, readers will wonder if there's any way out for Lexi. It takes a long time, but miracles can and do happen in this faith-based thriller. Fans of Ted Dekker will appreciate Healy's chilling story of the dangers on the road back to hope and faith. --Shelley Mosley

Never Let You Go is about a single mom, Lexi, and her nine year old daughter, Molly - in one week their world goes from a struggle to a survival situation. Lexi's husband reappears after many years. An old friend also appears and turns Lexi's life upside down. Lexi also makes a new friend in Angelo. We are introduced to Lexi's mother and father.

Never Let You Go is set in a small town, don't let a small town setting bother you - there is plenty of going ons in Craig's Nest. Lexi works two jobs to make ends meet for her and Molly.

Strange things slowly start to happen at the beginning of the story and I feel that this strange doings help to grab the reader right away. Each chapter was more suspenseful than the last. I was rooting for Lexi and her family through the entire story.

This was the first time I read a Christian inspired story and was thoroughly entertained by the book. This book had a very good message about good vs evil. After reading this book, more than likely you will stop and think about your life.

I highly recommend this book to other readers, this book delivers a very powerful message. I will be reading Erin Healy's other books in the near future.

As a Christian fiction lover, I was excited to read Never Let You Go by Erin Healy. I thought the plot sounded interesting and I couldn't wait to begin reading.... I was sorely disappointed. At times, I had to make myself turn the page. The plot was unbelievable. Literally. The main character, Lexi, has more hardship in her life than anyone can imagine. Her husband left her years ago and she works two jobs to support herself and her daughter. Despite her efforts, her poverty is all to real. Lexi's sister was murdered just before her husband left her. Her father lost his mind after this incident, and her mother decided to become a world traveler. Just when you think Lexi is all alone, old friends reappear in her life. This, of course, leads to even more trouble.

Although the book is categorized as Christian fiction, the Christian part is hard to pinpoint. Spiritual would be a much better description. Never have I found any Biblical evidence in support of the dramatic, dark events that take place in this story. With such a focus on demonic presence, Healy would have done well to do some research in Scripture to find out what demonic presence really looks like. Her lack of correct doctrine on the issue was a huge turn-off for me. Honestly, the book would have been a much better read if it had not been labeled a Christian book. The inclusion of Scripture here and there felt forced and out of place. I would not recommend this book to anyone, especially without first telling them of all the incorrect information about spiritual issues. If Healy attempts another solo book, I hope it presents the Christian life in a true way. This book simply did not.

This is one of the strangest books I have read! Lexi Solomon works at the Red Rocks Bar and Grill. She was raising her 9 year old daughter by herself as her drug addict husband had left her. She was very upset with him and trying very hard to make ends meet. She had a roommate, Gina, who helped take care of Molly in return for her rent. Gina was a devout Christian, plus a student at the college.

Lexi's life started to turn upside down when an old friend, Warden, who was the main person who had helped mess up her husband and provide him with drugs, and was a good friend of the man who killed her only sister, Tara. Norman was in jail for stabbing her to death. Weird things began to happen - her things appearing in the house when the doors were locked and no sign of a break-in, a note that her daughter got from Lexi's husband and Molly's dad, where the words on the letter changed each time she read it. Grant, Lexi's husband (she had never divorced him through the time he had been in jail), wanted very badly to get back together and be rejoined with his daughter.

One evening when Lexi was at work, Gina became very sick and was taken to the hospital. The neighbor took Molly to the hospital to be with Gina and, on the way, an SUV T-boned them and Molly flew through the window and landed on a big pick-up that just happened to be there. The driver was named Angelo, and he was able to protect Molly so all she had was a broken leg. By the time they got to the hospital, Lexi was there. The neighbor was almost killed, and the passenger in the other car was the man accused of killing Tara, Lexi's sister. About this time I was a bit frustrated at the amount of people to try to keep track of, but things started coming together, and I was engrossed in the story.
