First thing let me HIGHLY Suggest reading book one in this series and I would also suggest reading Beautifully Brutal (Southern Boy Mafia). This will help you get the characters down so you don't feel the need to flip to the front of the book for the guide )although you can do that if you want too).
As always Nicole Edwards takes us on a ride that starts at 60 and ends at 300 miles per hour and what a wonderful ride it is. Everyone could see the sparks between Ryan and Z in book and boy oh boy we get to see some M/M HOTNESS in Never Say Never!!!!
I am going to have the hardest time deciding who is my favorite Nicole Edwards couple Ethan/Beau or Z/Ryan....
Standalone though part of a larger family series
Told from both POVs
Minor editing errors. Nothing too major.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. While it wasn't my favorite from this author it was still enjoyable. I loved the story of Z and RT. I could have done without some of the mission parts of the book but that is mostly because I am just a sucker for love and wanted the book to focus only on them.
RT and Z are both selfless people. They put all others before themselves and that almost costs them each other. RT works all the time and after being burned in the past tries to avoid love. Z has a few secrets he keeps close to the vest. Like the fact he isn't actually a manwhore. He spends his nights somewhere special. I won't give away where.
I like this family and all the characters on the series. Can't wait for more books to come out.
Nicole Edwards brought back to life the shine I'd been missing from romance for a while, and I'm kicking my own ass for waiting so long to read this book. I've made a vow that any "free" reading time is going to be spent getting caught up with her books the few months I'm behind. Her work always leave me happy.
I liked the intrigue and mystery behind the Sniper 1 Security’s mission. It’s always fun to read a book that has a bit of cloak and dagger going on. Edwards really bumps things up a notch with her writing and special attention to the details of every scene. I appreciate that I get a full picture every time I read her books.
As someone who has read both the Alluring Indulgence and Devil’s Bend series, I had a fun time catching up with some of those characters. However, if I had not read those books, I think the amount of time those characters were present during this story would have been confusing and off-putting. There were a lot of names thrown around that would make it really hard to keep everyone straight. Even the current cast of characters was hard to remember. At one point, Edwards lists them all by name as they sat around a conference table. The list was two lines long…that’s a bit much. I am glad, however, that she included a family guide for the S1S families at the front of the book. Since she mentioned characters from other books, I think it would have been even more helpful to have a character guide in the back to refer to as well. Even I kept mixing up the Walker twins!
Overall, this was a steamy action-packed book about two men trying to find the courage to say what they want and take it no matter their past hang ups.
